download latest nokia firmware without navifirm ;-) inc 1020

Just curious, but can anyone explain what Light Swap Global means in reference to this rom...and my recently downloaded 1520 rom????

your current firmware version?

I have the same version RM-877_nam_att_205 and have been unable to flash to anything but 059S9T1 RM-877 VAR NAM US ATT SL BLACK

I get the FFU error when trying to flash with the LIGHT SWAP ENGINE GLOBAL - doing it in recovery etc.

I checked my phone under "extras + info" and my AT&T 1020 is "RM-877_nam_att_205".

So, looking at the product code list, it looks like I have these 4 to choose from:

059T3M3 RM-877 LIGHT SWAP ENGINE GLOBAL
059T019 RM-877 VAR NAM US ATT SL YELLOW
059T013 RM-877 VAR NAM US ATT SL WHITE
059S9T1 RM-877 VAR NAM US ATT SL BLACK

How would I know which one, if any, have the updated firmware?

I have the same version and have not been able to flash the Light Swap Global Engine, I get the FFU error. I have been able to flash 059S9T1 RM-877 VAR NAM US ATT SL BLACK successfully.

Hello, I am able to have a two Lumia 1020 (One for myself<059V058 RM-875 VAR APAC MY CV YELLOW> and one for my wife<059T7B1 RM-875 VAR APAC HK CV WHITE>). We are currently residing in the Philippines that means those phones do not came from my country.

Here are my questions:

1. Here are the fimwares I want to use:
059T957 RM-875 VAR APAC PH CV WHITE
059T955 RM-875 VAR APAC PH CV YELLOW
Can I use those fimwares? I mean can I change the country (Fimware from Malaysia and Hong Kong) so it can be setup automatically to my region (Philippines) even if I reset it many times?

2. The White Lumia 1020 (059T7B1 RM-875 VAR APAC HK CV WHITE) has random freezing/restarting issues in which I found a temporarily fix by plugging in a micro USB to the phone and charger even the phone is fully charged. Will this reflashing can fix this problem? Because when I ask my Vendor about this issue, they told me that if the problem still occurs after they hard reset it, they will flash it.

3. After reflashing, can I receive regular over the air updates like GDR3 with Lumia Black?

4. Also can I use Nokia Software Updater for Retail instead of Nokia Data Package Manager?

Sorry if I so many questions, I’m just making sure that I’m doing the right thing before I flash those phones.

Hi Buxz777 - Thanks for this and your follow-up posts on how to flash the 1020. I have a new Nokia Lumia 1020 RM-875. It was advertised on Amazon.com as "ATT Unlocked" but when I got it I found that it is an RM-875 not an RM-877 and the original FW is for a carrier in Australia. I hoped that would be OK since the RM-875 is the "international version". However, I have a problem - my 1020 RM-875 won't pick up HSPA/HSPA+ form my local carrier. My local carrier provides HSPA+ (HSDPA+) but my 1020 will only connect with EDGE (GPRS 2G) - it shows E beside the signal strength indicator.
I was unable to access the NCS v4 from your posts so used NaviFirm+ to download the FW files. Your posts were then very useful.
Checked SIM: My carrier has confirmed that my SIM is configured for 3G/4G services. If I put my SIM in another phone then that phone is able to access 3G - so that confirms that my SIM is OK.
Tried Different FWs: I have used NCS 5 to flash my 1020 with the newest CV FW for Australia/New Zealand (059T4B1) and with the newest CV ROM from UK (059T1V6). Both show the Nokia Amber version of the FW. But, no change - still only EDGE connection!!
Confirmed with Carrier that all phone settings correct: My carrier reconfigured my account then check all the settings in my phone - Mobile Network & Access Point, but still only EDGE connection.
Has anyone else had a similar problem?
Has anyone found a solution?
How may I test my 1020 to see if the Radio is faulty?

Excellent - Great help!! Thanks, Again. Please see my new post on this forum - I need your help.
Thanks.

1. Yes
2. It may. (You can try soft reset first. It did fix random reboots on my L920 before)
3. Yes
4. You'll use the Nokia Software Updater for Retail for flashing, you'll use Nokia Data Package Manager to download ROM.

I myself had RM-875_apac_australia_new_zealand_222 1020, flashed it with 059T955 RM-875 VAR APAC PH CV YELLOW and had no problem.

I am new to this flashing technology. This is too much of stuff for me to understand.
Was anyone successful flashing ATT Lumia 1020. I want this phone to be usable on other network like tmobile.

To flash and to unlock, are 2 different things.

I think the answer to your question is no to flashing, but if you want to use it on tmobile then you just need to get ATT to unlock it. There is a whole thread running currently on how to do that.

I managed to downgrade my 1020 today to the stock, but I still face the grave wifi and bluetooth hiccup, I am spitting bricks :(

I tryed to flash my L1020 with nokia software recovery tool. It recognize my phone rm-875 product code 059T7V6 and IMEi 357254051163113. And it downloads software 1.5Gb and when it needs to install it it says: "not suppotred device"
Can you help me, i dont know how to fix my phone?
The program downloaded and tryed to install these version of software:
(Phone Name : Nokia Lumia 1020

I have a Vietnam set (RM-875_apac_vietnam_234). No LTE available in the setting, the highest is 3G. Is it possible to unlock LTE by flashing LTE capable firmware?
