How to tackle Android/iOS fanboys?

As you are a student, the case for a Windows Phone being better couldn't be any better. I myself am a student and anyone who came to boasting about their latest high end Android or even iPhone went back defeated by my humble Lumia 620. The amount of functionality that a student needs which is built right into the OS is unmatched.
Do not bring your phone to the fight, rather let them come to you. They may show you features that are out of the world, ask them do you really feel at ease using them casually? I can never manage to get used to the split screen in a phone.because it reduces the screen real estate to work with properly.
The real benefit of having a Windows Phone as a student comes with when you have a Windows PC too. Most people bring their laptops to classes, I do not need to. All my books in my PC can be accessed through phone. Any data a friend transfers on my phone is right there in my PC too the instance it is transferred. Heck I don't even need a facebook app because the built in news feed is better than facebook's own news feed.

Just sit back, find what makes your work easy with this phone, and if anyone asks how you can live without apps, tell them to name anything that they use which you don't have. And show them how your life is better with your Lumia compared to mosnters they need to just boot up the Android. Over the course of 3 years, I managed to get a dozen people to get Lumia and they have never looked back since ;)

Good luck.

Re: How to tackle android/iOS fanboys

Unfortunately Android had facial unlock years ago, but you might still be able to surprise the ifanboy though...

Such facial recognition login has been on the likes of lenovo laptops since the days when web cams started to show up on laptop bezels... Those can be spoofed with just a printed photo.... was nothing but a gimmick and by no means secure... sure being a gimmick it did show up on android later... now finally the tech is here for face recognition(hardware and software) that can be considered secure and so its on a windows phone and so many other windows devices... might come to android later...

Even the "secure" Face Recognition on Android can be exploited with a Simple Picture.

Well even all Fingerprint Sensors are unsecure.

Biometric Security = Foobar.

They doing it on the lowest Level of Android, Google didnt brough Samsungs Knox for nothing. They are working on bringing Knox together with SELinux. And only that shows the Way they want to go in the Future.

Sony is going some dirty Way (Even Samsungs Knox is a child against it). Unlocking the Phone removes DRM Keys, and one Example that happens without them :

Camera is loosing several Filters, and Algorythms...so every Picture (Mostly these made in dark Areas) look like real Crap.
Miracast, X-Reality, Bavaria, Sound Settings and more will be lost too.

You can backup these Keys, but you can use them only on Sony-Firmwares.

And to that : No Aftermarket-Firmware for the newer Sony Phone has the Camera correct, because of the lack of drivers and drm keys.

they except that the Z5/Z5c will loose much more, after unlocking.

But i'm not on the Bandwagon "OS Fighters, and Fanbois". I say to others : Use what you like most. Thats the fairest Way to answer.

Nope. Google hasn't really touched the way pure Android is rooted in several years. Update your info or change sources.

You're referring to OEM stuff.

I don't know if anyone beat me to the punch, but the process of tackling an iPhone or an Android ****** is straight and simple, you put your leg in between their legs while they're walking/running, or if you're feeling sporty you should imagine yourself as a pro NFL player and charge towards them at full speed dropping them to the ground. :)

Step 1: If you're asking this question, realize that you are just as much of a ****** as they are.
Step 2: Ask yourself if they could "tackle" you with they're arguments for their OS.
Step 3: When you realize the answer to Step 2 is NO, don't start the argument in the first place, you are just talking past each other in an attempt to justify your own choice and make yourself feel superior.

This, pretty much.

Anyone who gets that emotional about a smartphone OS shouldn't be taken seriously anyway, and you shouldn't concern yourself with "tackling" them nor convincing them that w10m is a solid OS. Fanboys are unbreakable (and kind of sad).
