I currently have a HTC Hero and am pondering getting a HTC 7 Pro (since it will probably be the only WP7 device on Sprint when I upgrade) and am wondering if anyone knows how well the WP7 devices will work with Gmail. I don't want to get rid of my spam filtering I have setup in Gmail just to start all over with a Windows Live Mail account.

yes. you'll be able to use Google Sync.

To set up Google Sync on your Windows Mobile device, please follow the steps below.
Important Note: Make sure that you have backed up any Contacts and Calendars from your phone to your computer before proceeding.
Getting Started
1. Open the Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync application on your device's home screen.
2. Click Set up your device to sync with it.
3. Enter m.google.com as the server address.
4. Ensure that the SSL option is selected.
Sign In to Your Google Account
5. Click Next.
6. Enter your full Google Account email address as the User name.
7. Enter your Google Account password as the Password.
8. Leave the Domain field empty. If your device requires you to enter a domain name, enter google.
9. Click Next.
10. Check Contacts, Calendar, or Email, depending on which you'd like to sync. (Tasks is not supported and will lead to an error if checked.)
11. Click Finish.
12. Press the Sync soft key on the left to synchronize.
You've now set up Google Sync for your Windows Mobile device.

Does the WP7 allow multiple exchange accounts? If not, then when you sync Google, it means you can't have a work Outlook exchange account at the same time. Not a lot of phones allow multiple exchange accounts. The Palm Pre does. My HTC Touch Pro 2 does not.

What about WP7? And specifically the HTC 7 Pro?

eJonny, I think your instructions are for Windows Mobile, not Windows Phone ;-)

Windows Phone you just enter in your Gmail stats and it will do email, calendar and contacts automatically.

No configuring. Just name + password, mad simple.
