I'm considering buying an 8s for a family member to replace their broken Lumia 520. Can the 8s access Nokia's apps from the store? I'm thinking specifically of the Here Drive and Nokia Music apps because he uses those regularly. Thanks.

You can't install them without the Proxy Wi-Fi trick and it not longer works -it's dead.
So no you can't install Nokia apps on an HTC.

Thanks for the reply. That's disappointing and may be a deal breaker.

It works, alright. You just have to set up proxy manually.
These are dead, you can try and even tho it says connected, you're not connected to a server that works.
Neither of these work as a W-Fi Proxy when you change it in your Wi-Fi settings

103.13.29.118/Port 8888 -Thailand

Edit: CLOSED due to server problem.

The proxy trick still works. Just use Fiddler (make sure to allow remote connections), and change the rules.

I said the Wi-Fi Proxy doesn't work

I don't understand enough about Fiddler to use it, I'm not that tech savvy, and before you say oh it's easy,
I'm sure you're tech savvy so it is.
I don't even know what (make sure to allow remote connections), and change the rules means
so you lost me right there.
Wi-Fi Proxy was easy.

Wow, you seem a little aggressive.

You stated it couldn't be done, when that's not entirely true. That's all.

I did include a  and I was just waiting for oh it's easy
which is what happens every time I say I can't figure out fiddler -so sorry about that
didn't mean to sound that way.
I guess I should have said can't do it with the Wi-Fi proxy method
and left it at that, rather than not at all.

And how exactly do you know that it isn't possible with Wi-Fi proxy method?
Just because you do not know how to set up the proxy using Fiddler on your PC?
Wi-Fi proxy method is currently the only way to do that. And it still works, if you know how to set up the proxy server.

We are talking about a specific Wi-Fi Proxy trick had been floating around here since May or June
not working ( not any Wi-Fi Proxy per se) it was shut down on 16 December 2013 by the person who created it.
Server/URL 117.135.139.179, Port 8888 was closed last year and it no longer works.
Read the developer's (reker) own words where he posts it on Twitter
and on XAD that he closed it 16, December 2013. You can read his quotes on a thread I created.

Will a Wi-Fi proxy work ? sure but there isn't one available currently that works, the ones that worked are closed.
Fiddler works if you know how to do it.
Why don't you set a Wi-Fi Proxy server like reker did since you say you know how to set one up ?
Everyone would be grateful if you did.
