How about seeing something a bit "different" today.
I'm on a diet right now that is yeast free and no fried foods. I seemed to have developed an intolerance for yeast in the recent past.
So I'm in the mood for a hot dog, but can't have the bun. What do you do? I come up with my own concoction at home. Everything is fresh, home cooked with the exception that I didn't make the hot dog from scratch. I can't do that. Yuck. Why do I still eat them? I'm weak. I know.
Anyway, I grilled a nice kosher Angus Beef hot dog. I took 1/4 cup of flour, added a 1/2 teaspoon olive oil, added water, mixed, then rolled it out with a rolling pin to a nice 7 to 8 inch circle. Placed it on a hot iron griddle and cooked it on both sides. Topped it with shredded sharp cheddar, shredded asadero cheese, montery jack, and my own homemade salsa. Then I placed the grilled dog in it, wrapped it up on 4 sides, brushed it lightly with canola oil, and baked until golden brown.
I baked a potato for my side dish, and it was quite good. Much healthier than getting a hot dog and fries at a baseball game, and was a much nicer meal.
