I Am Hungry! - Post Your Eats!

What? That's incredible.

A large number of establishments offered free or reduced price meals here for vets and uniformed military.

I think Denny's restaurants started that some years ago with the free breakfast for military vets on veterans day.
A friend and I went to a Denny's last year...we left because the wait was too long. (We were hungry )

The wife finally talked (nagged) me into trying "Pegs Glorified Eggs" here in town...
Very glad we went to this place!

Corn beef hash and eggs for me.
This was the best CB&H I've ever had!

This was one of those meals where it's really difficult to push the plate away and stop!
I love this place!

Dinner tonight at Gino's East Pizzeria. Freaky fries with jalape?o peppers, pepper jack cheese, 8 veggie deep dish pizza and tiramisu for dessert. 15 years since the last meal at this establishment and still damn good as ever! Very very satisfied, going to sleep well tonight despite being next to the airport....

When we moved to Chicago, there was a restaurant by us that specialized in potatoes and all our neighbors raved about their french fries called garbage potatoes. We had no desire to go eat something called garbage potatoes. After about a year we finally went and tried their garbage potatoes (we had to wait in line on a Friday night to try them) and they were outstanding. The owner retired a few years later and sold the place to a Polish guy, who started a Polish restaurant. It was really a loss. The garbage potatoes looked something like this:

So we found out we have a nice Sicilian cafe/restaurant in town. My wife discovered it first then we went there yesterday for lunch. I completely forgot to take photos of the sandwich I had but I remembered to snap a short of the dessert.

The prices are very reasonable.

Pistachio cake.
