It's a hit or miss for me. Sometimes it vibrates thrice and refreshed the screen. Sometimes, it does not do anything.

Probably a misspress of the keys? I can get it every time on my 1520. On the Windows 10 forum I just posted a theory that's it is a display reset.

If I had volume up/down keys on my keyboard I'd try it there but it works with my Surface 3's volume buttons.

When a Press volume up and down at the same time, repeatedly, the phone screen flashes them goes back to normal and the phone vibrates. What is this for and has this always existed?

Omg my laptop does the same when you spam volume up, volume down, and mute in that order (minus the vibrating).

it does that on my laptop as well, but I have to press Vol up/dwn three times, just a flash and a beep, if I do it 4 or 5 times quickly the screen flashes and beeps 2 and 3 times resp.

LOL it even works on my laptop with the FN keys. This is pretty weird!
It could be some display test / display refresh.
