Latest Samsung Ativ S firmware updates

Hi guys, I was on preview. I confirm that to get the right update I had to revert to gdr2 with ato, downloaded from the link in previous pages.
First I reverted to gdr3 and get only 8.1 update, with camera issue included, very disappointed😠. So I flashed and updated for nothing loosing lots of time, I could have avoided this reading with more attention the previous post.
Now all looks working fine.

Hi, can you pls tell me what means? CSC, DBT, and ATO

CSC stands for Country Specific Code, for example my ATIV S is a UK Open Market model which is the OXA CSC.

From what I can gather it determines specific country features e.g. The languages that are available.

Did you try to revert back to GDR2 with file link i sent to you?
I now can get WP 8.1 with GDR3... Now I have OS 8.10.14157.200, fw 2424.14.9.3 and bootloader 14.09.3.16
That versions is newest?

@EDIT: What mean some pointer above WiFi and SIM singal?

Is this app now working with official WP8.1 update? can anyone test it? But be ready for reset.

Yes, now you have official version. That pointer is for activity (internet transfer)

Can you tell more about that WiFi transfer? I don't Know what you aimed :P
@I still have problem with unlocking SIM card after cellphone's start up... I enter SIM PIN and for 1sec I must enter again SIM PIN, but this time, phone freeze for 15-20 sec... I don't Know why :/

@EDIT: How I can set that WiFi don't turn off when is phone locked... Now I don't have that option

you dont need to enter the PIN again
the animation is tooooooo slow... just enter the PIN and wait till the system boots up. It takes like 3 - 5sec. I have the same problem.
Wifi transfer means that your WIFI connection is ACTIVE - browsing net or downloading / uploading things

WIFI is ALWAYS ON
it wont turn off - you need to switch it off in the notification center / if you want / if not, it will be active all the time

Very happy with ATO 8.1.1, had to go back to 8.0 GDR2 to get it, all apps had to be reinstalled, but now it's working very smooth. Camera working fine, phone memory has 0 bytes 'temporary files' and 0 bytes 'other'. Pity that the ATIV camera app is not available anymore, would have liked to test it. Looks like it's still there, but 'not for my device'. Tried several stores (US, UK, NL). For now I'll stick to the official updates, no more developer previews for me. Unless GDR2 has very interesting features......

Greeting good people

i am now at DP 8.1 update, firmware 2424.13.5.1 my CSC is DBT phone not carrier locked.
Can I just switch CSC to ATO do a hard reset and get update to 8.1 including firmware update, or do I have to revert back to WP 8.0 and do the whole update thing.

The pointer means which connectivity you are using. If you are currently using wi-fi it will show a pointer above the wi-fi icon and if you are using the carrier data the pointer will show up above the icon that represents it.

The SIM, I personally always had that problem. Not really a problem, you just have to wait like 3 seconds. But don't enter the PIN again, just enter the PIN once and if it really doens't start after 10 seconds (mine always took about 3 seconds) then you might have a problem that I don't know about.

The wi-fi, if it is on it will stay on when you lock the phone. You don't have the option to turn off the wi-fi when phone locks. You can only turn it off manually.

I hope now that samsung release the ATIV CAMERA,i'm so excited...and for others...i can't help you with other ROMs...there are hard to find or impossible because the european version that i have its the "base" if you understand me.

Quick question to all the expert in Hard Reset amongst you: :)
Need to know just those two things before embarking in the process of ATO switching and then upgrading.. ^^

1)
If I hard reset the device, are the Groups in Whatapp rejoined automatically? I don't do s*it of the history of the chats, but I need to get back to all the groups ASAP.

2)
What about Family Club in People Hub? Being the account in the ATIV S the one that created the Club in the first place, will it be recreated immediately after relogging the account the first time after Reset?

Thanks in advance.

Well, couldn't wait, flashed a gdr2 rom with ato. Updated to official 8.1. Very nice. Runs smooth and everything seems to work well. It messed with some country specific settings, but that seems fixable. Camera is good. Settings say mms is not set up, but the Samsung apn setting says it is and mms works. Looks like a good last (probably) hurrah for our phone. Any other issues need checking?

Well, Samsung is not giving any official statement so I guess I'll do it too. I was going to wait longer but since we have had some positive feedback I'll give it a go. Will update tomorrow when everything is set up

I can't get my mms to work. I am using csc ATO and can no longer change back to original csc of NZC. I was able to get into the diagnostic apn settings via *#9908# and tried to edit them to be what I need but still no luck.
