Latest update and battery life

Much improved for me on my 1020. Since 8.1 it's normally been at 60% by now (10 hours) currently sitting at 80% with more usage than normal.

My 1520 seemed better this morning. Then I didn't use it for a few hours due to work and it drained by 20%, which is worse than before the update. Then a few soft resets later it seemed to stabilise. So far though, it's been worse for me!

I will wait a few days before I try a Hard Reset.

I did a hard reset after installing 8.1 without restoring from backup. A all the bugs except for the battery issue went away. I'm leery about doing it again, and then discovering there's still no battery improvement.

Seems a lot better on my NL1320. It's only been a day but the idle drain went from 3,60% down to 2,19%. And after 16 hours, battery level is around 62% while with the same usage I would've been at ~40%.

Battery life seems to be a bit better on my 810. Took the phone off the charger last night around 10:30PM. It is at 79% after 12 hours...not bad.

Battery life is better on my Lumia 1020. I did a hard reset and also I noticed that the battery saver now shows internet explorer doesn't have background option toggle.

It's 1:30pm now and I'm already down to 61%. Though, in fairness, I've spent almost 1.5 hours reading the news, 20-30 minutes on the phone and another 30 minutes playing 2048. I've also left wifi on (even though there's none here) and Bluetooth on (I'm way too far from the car for that to work).

I suspect if I hadn't powered on and off once and done a soft-reset once I'd probably be closer to 65-68%.

We'll see how it goes, but I haven't been able to run the phone out in a single day for some time now.

Off charger at 7:30 am 300 text, 2 10 minute calls and 30-45 min of web and I just hit 90%. Looking good so far. AT&T 1520

Then your culprit is WhatsApp. What happens if you don't let it run in the background?

With Lumia 625 it's still a piece of crap... the BATTERY APP I had to install cause Batter Saver doesn't even open AT ALL (check my thread) still telling me batter leaks 5% in 9 minutes or so, AND I can't even see what's using it cause Batter savr doesn't work...

The battery life was horrible before the update on my 920. It would only last around 12 hours with minimal use. After update: It had 100% when i took it out of the charger at eight o?clock in the morning. I?ve had 3G and WIFI on the whole day. I?ve downloaded/updated four apps. Have been surfing around the phone in a total of around one hour. (IE, light gaming, emails, facebook) Now after 13 hours it still stands with 45% which means it can probably last another 10 hours. So the update has improved the battery life by a big margin.

I noticed a LARGE improvement in battery life, close to if not maybe the same as 8.0 on my Lumia 1520. With the initial 8.1, I noticed the phone being barely able to make it throughout the day with a full charge + regular use. I charged my phone and updated yesterday at around 3pm, didn't charge my phone overnight, and it's still at 50% with playing games in between, checking facebook, emails, etc.

After 24h use its yet hard to say on battery life, BUT I noticed default camera fires up ~0.3 seconds faster probably due to no opening animation.

All in all, I'm disappointed with the update. It didn't fix any of IE crashes and HTML5 video bugs.

I downloaded the update to 8.1 yesterday. I am averaging 3% drain per hour. I was doing more than 5% drain per hour with the previous version. After I synced everything and did a soft reset I got significant improvement in battery life. It's on par or better than wp 8.0 I have a lot of apps open and am syncing internet explorer setting. I am satisfied with the new update. My only complaint is I still have problems syncing my 5000 exchange contacts. I had to resync them in order to search for contacts in the people hub.
