Have you checked in settings what firmware version you have?Okay, it's been more than a day of heavy use. Not a single reboot on the NA RM-985 when compared to the prototype RM-985

4 days straight. Not a single hiccup or reboot. I guess the last phone I had (prototype RM-985) did have some hardware issue or the Microsoft store firmware is more stable when compared to other RM-985 versions
I would try loading the U.S. Firmware but I find it a pain doing that lol.
Well its a pain for sure. Last time I speculated about the LTA ROM, I ended up flashing the Rogers ROM which didn't help. Then I felt it could be the microSD card, bought a new one, that didn't help either. Then sent it to Microsoft Repair...that helped, got a better newer phone in less than a week. TBH I have never had any lock + restarts with any one of the plethora of WPs I've used, this was the first one and hopefully the last one too.
Nothing really, no early OS/firmware updates which is the surprising partAh well that's good to know even though I haven't had random reboots on my "prototype " 830 but I am wondering if there is a advantage using the us firmware
Look, what I noticed is that some apps like facebook, messenger, lumia camera, flipboard etc. Sometimes continue to work in the background even though you didn't minimize them by pressing the windows key, but rather closing them by pressing the back key a few times. Anyway, when you're gonna put your phone away, press and hold the back button to make sure nothing apart from the home screen
did you get the battery quickly discharged from 100% to 99% after 5 mins of unplugging ?
Strangely enough I had a similar problem that lasted only for a short while (few hours), did nothing and it rectified itself, a one time deal so far.Just wanted to chime in and say the only problem my RM-985 has had that I haven't seen written here is losing notification sounds.
Every couple of weeks or so I'll just lose them (text sounds, unlock sounds, etc.). Vibrate still works, it just acts as if it's on silent. A soft reset fixes it, though a couple of times the sounds were restored after doing nothing for about 10 minutes.
Does anybody have a problem with GPS? When I use Here maps or Here drive in offline, the phone keep searching for GPS signal and cannot find my location.
Hello guys. I have problems with my L830. I dont know if it's just me or it's phones fault... First of all, i noticed i've got lumia camera but not full version i mean i dont have the flash capture options. When i open the app it ask me to get lates firmware. But when i go to option to do auto update it says i have the latest version....
Just to share my experience, I also have encountered the sound distortion while the phone was sitting on a charging plate. I've never had any reboots, headphone ring maybe I'm waiting for that to come off but hopefully it won't. Camera is ok, but LC5 doesn't work properly, still waiting for Denim. The camera button is a bit sensitive.
And for the people who are wondering why the camera can still be enabled from lockscreen is because of these options:
1. Press and hold camera button to wake up the phone - pretty much wakes up the phone from sleep.
2. Prevent accidental camera launch when phone is locked - this one only works if the phone is in your pocket or something is in front of the proximity sensor. If 1 is ticked and 2 is not ticked, then launching the camera from sleep is allowed, regardless if the phone is in your pocket or not.
If both are ticked, camera will launch as long as there's nothing in front of the proximity sensor.
If 1 is not ticked and 2 is, camera will only launch when you wake from sleep.
If 1. Press and hold camera button to wake up the phone is not checked, then # 2 Prevent accidental camera launch when phone is locked, if checked will never launch the camera while locked in any circumstance
# 1 over rides # 2 if both are checked as you stated.
Yes 1 ticked and 2 not ticked will only launch camera if woken from sleep, but not while it's locked.
If both are ticked, 1 does not override 2. So when camera button is pressed (1), it depends on the value of the proximity sensor if it should wake the phone or not (2). It just looks like it overrides it, because it's most likely that there's nothing blocking the proximity sensor when camera button is pressed (because you know we intentionally want to use the camera), so the camera launches. Unless of course part of your palm/finger blocks the sensor so it won't open.
