Lumia 900 unlocked on T-Mobile?

Hey guys, I am locked in at T-Mobile, but I love the Lumia 900 and I plan on buying my next phone off-contract anyway, so I was curious about this. I have seen some speculation, but no one seems to know for sure and I know nothing about bands and radio and all the different factors that impact reception. I am told that AT&T will unlock phones, is this an exception?

I love the Lumia 800 too, but it is also AT&T and I don't want to be stuck on EDGE for obvious reasons . I have also used the Lumia 710 (my mom has it) and while it is nice, I prefer a more high end device.

if u unlock a 900 it should work on tmobile but will not work on tmobiles 3g or 4g network. So u r using there slow network.

There is no support for 1700MHz in the Lumia 900, so the radio will fallback to GSM/EDGE connectivity if you try to use it on magenta.

Everybody keeps saying that 900 will only run on 2G with Tmobile but FCC documents showed that they actually had a 1700 AWS WCDMA band. So it should get 3G on tmobile but nobody will know until the device comes out

This is a good thread to look at if you're curious about using a 900 on TMO. Looks like an unlocked Rogers could work 3g/4g on TMO but only EDGE with an ATT phone. Situation still not entirely clear. Lumia 900 and T Mobile - xda-developers
