I noticed you've got battery save always on...im sure that was helping conserve the battery life a lot.

All i want is my phone to last 1.5 days, with data on and using a few light background processes like weather flow and battery sense. If I let the phone sit there and not use it...i can probably get it to a full day. But the reason I got smartphone is to use it....not sit idle for days. Start surfing, listening to music or playing a game and the phones bbattery begins draining...fast.

Sorry for the late reply there are two sets of screenshots - one set with always on and the other it kicks in at low battery. I get so many forwards and chains from people..its not even funny anymore.. forget spamming adverts some people have become perpetual spammers themselves...

I bought the 920 the first day it came out. I have had crazy short battery life ever since. I contacted AT&T, and claimed warranty exchanges twice. The problem would still exist. I think the problem resides in the LTE/wireless chip. When I browse the internet on WIFI without the sim card in the phone, the phone would only get slightly warm and I don't experience the crazy battery drain. If I am on LTE and browse the phone for over 10 mins, my phone's upper right bottom corner would get extremely hot. The battery would also drain more than 20~30%/hour. Even after stopped using it, the phone would continue discharging at the same rate.

I took my phone to the Microsoft Store. The store employees said that this is a hardware issue and they have all experience the same. They also mentioned that software updates won't be able to fix this issue. Microsoft has already reported to Nokia and they are unsure what Nokia will do.

Now I have totally given up on the Lumia 920 and changed to an iPhone 5. I have been trying to sell my phone on craigslist, but haven't been successful.

Sounds way too familiar... Check out the thread I started here How hot does your Lumia 920 get?

I have Lumia 920 since July, when i go to bed battery it's on 30% usually, but when i wake up, it has 4 or 5% (example)... Could it be that 25% of the battery is drained without using the phone on stand by mode? With my last phone Lumia 720 it last 1 1/2 day, but L920 has a terrific battery..... Is it normal?

Same here. My nav app(nokia drive) will drain my battery anywhere between 9 to 11% in 19 minutes.when I stop using my nav app(no background tasks running) my drain rate stays high even with nav app closed??? I do a soft reset(press down power and volume buttons same time) afterI close out nav app, my battery drain rate instantly drops after soft reset (it should since Im no longer using nav app) When I don't soft reset after using nav app my phone keeps showing an elevated drain rate as if I were still using nav app when Im not. I think soft reset must sync with servers. And I believe servers sync with phone every 30 minutes or so

How do you close Nokia drive?
With your back button or windows button?

(ps in settings you can block apps running in background, disable drive)

Just thought I'd add my experience. After months of working fine my 920 suddenly started draining the battery really fast. Even having it connected via USB to my PC (which used to trickle charge it) wasn't enough to stop it discharging. I also noticed the top of the phone getting really hot.

Vodafone offered to swap it, so I thought I'd try a factory reset since I had nothing to lose. Since doing the reset the battery life has been amazing! WAY better than even from new!? It was a hassle getting it all back just how I wanted it, but it's so much better as a result.

Re: lumia 920 Battery Issues

In my experience, battery performance doesn't change all that much whenever you get past the "break in" period. I've only ever gotten marginally better performance.

So my first night with my 920: went to bed at 12:30am with 100%. At 6:00 am it was at 96% with, everything turned off (nfc, bluetooth, 3g, low backlight, 30 seconds to sleep, silent mode) outlook account that pushes mail every hour (got 2 mails), 2 gmails that push every 2 hours (no email received), 2 apps in background tasks and location on as I had forgotten to switch it off. Went to sleep again until 11:15am it was at 91% with gmail and outlook mails received and location off and 2 apps in background.
So thoughts?
I turned off battery saver, turned off push for gmail accounts, turned off 1 application background. Oh and I don't have the Amber update yet

The only things that are missing on WP, is:

1) The ability to TURN OFF automatically WIFI, email sync, bluetooth, etc OVERNIGHT... (i've noticed that with wifi off at night battery last a lot more)
2) Alarm that tworks even when the phone is turned off.

When Ms add that options in Windows Phone, will be the perfect and best SO ever!

Yep, it would be nice to be able to set the phone to automatically put itself into flight mode at a predetermined time but for me, I've got a flight mode tile at the top of my start screen that I use to toggle flight mode on/off when I need to.

I can't see MS allowing the alarm function to work with the phone switched off any time soon though. Android and iPhones also need the phone to be switched on for the alarms to work. I know we could turn off our Symbian phones and still have the alarm wake us up but I believe that Symbian actually went into a deep sleep state rather than actually being turned off completely.

my 920 is like a magic. The battery % always icrease back to 10~20% everytime after restarting my phone. So I can do this when my phone is in extremely low battery whenever I am urgent to use it when I am at outside. Not sure it is a good thing or bad. = =

Re: lumia 920 Battery Issues

So I just got my brand new(basically used with not a single scratch or flaw) yellow Lumia 920 last Tuesday and the first day went pretty good. But when I started installing apps and things that battery performance changed after about a week. Some days its good. Other days I have it in my pocket and go to use it at 12PM and the battery is already at 50-70% with no usage. But I love this phone and can't wait to put the camera to the test!

Is just me or the battery performance is slightly better since GDR2?
I also have better battery life since Amber. It is not due to better charged rate but the disappearance of "process stuck" problem seemingly. The phone gets cooler quickly after was used heavily. However, the charged rate about 20-30% per hour when surfing internet in 3G is still not acceptable.

I'm agree with that it should last 6 hours at least with continous 3G use :/
