Lumia 950 XL not recognized by pc. Cable problem ? Windows 7.

I bought 950XL a few days ago.
Do I have to buy a new cable in order to connect it to a pc?
I tried to use the old micro USB cable with an USB C adapter, but when I connect it to a PC and the phone - nothing happens.

Do I have to buy a new cable? USB C cable?

I believe you do need a USB C cord, but I'm not sure. Also it could be a driver issue. Please follow the suggestion of the "best answer" in this thread.....

Yes you need a full USB C cable... Micro USB and adapters do not work with 950 / XL
