Microphone problem specific to Lumia 925 after installing dev. preview

This problem, so far, can not be solved at least from a software perspective. not even with a re-flash of previous Lumia Firmware.

Now i got my replacement for another NOkia 925, but I am not sure if I should take the risk and update again! It's really annoying, Nokia or Microsoft should really look into this, Microphone is the most important thing for a phone, hallo?

Ok so whats the spread on this? Who has installed the Dev preview on their 925 and still has a working mic? I just got my $5.39 ATT 925 and am itching to update it.

After thinking that it was the software update, it turned out to be a hardware problem in my case. If I squeeze the top of the phone (at the earpiece) then my mic works for a bit. Seems to be a bad contact. I'm still in warranty, but I don't feel like losing my phone for a few weeks when I send it in :-P.

Lumia 920, using normal ear to phone, my caller can hear me fine, if I switch to speakerphone during the call, the microphone is muted, if I switch back, the other person can hear me fine...
??? WTF....

I had this issue with my lumia 1020 only after installing 8.1 preview. Either the update broke my mic or it died suspiciously just after the update becuase my mic did work after installing the preview. I tried flashing it many times back to Lumia Black but had no luck in fixing my mic. I finally broke down and bought a replacement jack and mic last week which arrived today. After swapping it out everything works again on Lumia Cyan 8.1. Seems my issue was hardware related. I cant say if the preview caused my issue but Im glad its fixed via the hardware swap.

Are there any updates, folks? as I havent solved my(and all of us) problem of dead microphone. The news posted today about Joe Belfiore stating that they are going to spread update for developers is giving me some hope that MS is sending a fix this week.

i have been facing the same problem after installing the new update of 8.1
Its been ridiculous on Nokia teams part that they dont want to resolve the issue under warranty.
They are not taking any responsibility to solve this problem and i am fed up with the pathetic and slow service.

i dont think, any android user or apple user would have had such a bad experience dealing with their own service centres.
Unfortunately , Nokia is loosing its professionalism.
