Microsoft Band 2 Shipping

My guess is that the Band 2 is stateside, but they can't deliver until the customs issues are cleared, hence the reason the listing keep showing China.

Yes, I just spoke with FedEx and they confirmed to me they are actually in Memphis, TN - but there is a customs issue regarding a whole bunch of them that is awaiting clearance. She said as soon as clearance is made, I should receive it the next day - but she wasn't able to give me any timeframe as to when clearance may actually occur.

Christ on a cracker, it finally changed to.....clearance delay in Winnipeg...and no delivery date available.

update.... clearance delay is gone. Back to "In transit" from Winnipeg but still no scheduled delivery... at least there's progress! I hope this was the bulk shipment that made clearance is back on track for all Canadian online pre-orders. Whoever Microsofts customs broker is, they needs to be replaced. they really s*** the bed on this one. I've never seen a product launch botched this badly before(well, one that I've actually participated in)

I got mine on 10/30 as promised, but I could tell right away I ordered the wrong size. I'm 6'2" and had the Band1 in Large, but the Band2 Large on it's tightest setting slips quite a bit around my wrist... i actually think it's more the new shape than the size.

I don't live near a MS Store.
Put in a return request online and ordered the Medium. Just noticed this morning that it's on back-order (would have been nice if it said that during the order process) so I called around and all Best Buys are sold out. Medium on Amazon is sold out too, though Large and Small are available. They are in stock online at Best Buy so I ordered that with a delivery date of 11/5. Cancelled my MS order.

After the fiasco of Microsoft massively underestimating the popularity of the Band1, i'm surprised it's happening again. On the other hand, they've made it super-easy to exchange/return their products and like I said, my original pre-ordered band did arrive on time. Overall I think there's lots of options available and in the end I think most everyone will be happy.

Just out of curiosity did you try the sizing guide online? what is the circumference of your wrist? I'm worried as I live about 14000km from a Microsoft store so returning a large might be an issue...

ok the reason the band is being held in customs is that Microsoft has failed to release them. According to Fed EX they are being held for a "release date" which we know has come and gone but MS never got word to the shippers or for at least some of the shipments. I've just called MS and made them aware and waiting for them to run it down from there end. I live close enough to a MS store I may swing by to see if they have one in stock and do a return on the preorder. I know this doesn't help our friends to the north but if your state side make a few calls to the retailer.

Spoke with FedEx this morning. My shipment has been shown bouncing from Shenzhen back to Memphis, back to Shenzhen. According to FedEx, they were released from customs today. In transit to usa now. Then has to clear Usa customs. This is absurd. I told them when they find it to ship it via ups...

Thanks for the heads up. I've ordered mine from Amazon, and will return the "pre-order" vaporous Band 2 whenever it finally arrives.

Don't get too excited about it being shipped. FedEx admitted yesterday that they don't really know where my package is.

There is (this from FedEx) an issue with the paperwork and the contact at the shipper has not responded to the request for more information from Canada Customs. It looks to me like it got to Winnipeg, MB and after sitting there for a few days got lonely and went home to China.

I ordered mine on Amazon this AM, and it will arrive on Friday. Whenever the "pre-order" finally arrives I'll just take it unopened to a MS Store for a refund. They will honor it.

I just did the same. Done waiting around for FedEx/Microsoft to figure this out.

Are you sure? What's the return policy, thirty days? What if it takes more than that? At this route that's what's happening.

It appears in speaking with both MS and FedEx the factory got ahead of themselves and started shipping before they were supposed to. MS has a scheduled launch date and they're sticking to it. Instead of letting the first batch go after they got to Memphis and Winnipeg respectively, they've returned them to the factory in China where they'll be released when MS gives them the go-ahead. Sort of like the bank making an error. It's not you're money so back it goes.

I ordered 2 of the new microsoft band 2's. I'm in Canada and I received fedex shipping notices on both. Basically, long story short, all Canadian orders are on hold until the 20th. Microsoft screwed up and shipped them early (and billed my credit card early by the way). I called the microsoft store and complained and received 2 x $20.00 promo codes for use on my next order. I would've settled for the band 2 early but they have intercepted the shipments. If you check your fedex tracking it will be all screwed up. Unfortunately, we northerners wont be getting our bands until the 20th or after.

I'm glad I saw this thread. I received a ship notice from MS on Oct. 26. When FedEx tracking became available it said expected delivery date was Nov 2 by 12 pm to my place in Western Canada. I even stayed home on Monday expecting the arrival. Here we are two days later and the tracking simply updates to each day as an expected delivery date. But like everyone else my Band 2 is still in Shenzhen China. Oh well.
