Microsoft ID never accepted

I have reset, hard rest it, asked Microsoft support for the activation key, entered it already, but still I am not able to add my Microsoft account in my htc 8x. PLS HELP ME OUT! This is what I see every time I attempt sign in

"Can't connect
We're having a problem signing in. Make sure you have good reception. If you do, the problem may be on the other end. Wait a little while and try again."

This might not be what you want to hear, but have you considered trying to sign up for a new MS ID and seeing if that works? If it does you absolutely know there's something wrong with your account you can complain to MS about.
