Odd SIM Card Error

Here's a strange one. The problem is actually with my Nokia 720, but I suspect a more general problem. I'm currently visiting Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. When I stick a local SIM in my phone, I get an invalid SIM error. When I stick the same SIM in another (none Windows) phone, it's fine. I don't think it's a hardware problem with the 720 since my UK, Namibian and Zimbabwean SIMs still work with it. Any ideas?

Could it be that your WP device is SIM locked? In this case it's not very surprising that you can't use any other SIM in it.

i think the gold plated chip in the sim has been corrupted or is not fitting your phones sim card the same happened with my device..after using a device to transform it into a mini sim.....i had lots of troble....adjusting it in the slot...

Ok.... Customer has told me they only supply the older (none combi) SIMS, and had to use a cutter. Problem not exactly solved, but at least it's understood .
