Can you paste a screen shot of proshot while using the manual options to show what you mean? Also does it on the IDOL4s offer Auto HDR?

ProShot does have A-HDR on the Idol 4S.

Take a look at all the modes and such. I especially use RAW sensor to TIFF file.

Photo mode: select the timer length, adjust contrast/saturation/shadow recovery and individual R,G,B saturation

Light painting mode: light trails or long expose (starscape)

or Capture as RAW... and Save as TIFF

Forced HDR plus RAW to TIFF gives it problems and it crashes on me. Or did, have not tried that combo in awhile.

Nice. Seem like an able app though. Thanks for this info. I purchased OneShot (removed watermark), but it was lacking and was the WP8 app only still. Are you using the UWP ProShot app?

Is it just me or does ProShot, 1Shot and One Shot always crash? It's gotten worse since the 1066 update but they always crashed. 1Shot is the worst offender.

Nope, not just you. I had just installed 1Shot today and half of the time it wouldn't take the pic, and the other half it crashed. It made my phone do some weird things, too, after I installed. Needless to say, it's been uninstalled.

fatclue_98, so do you think the pros outweigh the cons of this phone ?

I may return the device. It seems I am having bluetooth issues now. It was working yesterday, but today I had a call and I answered through my Bluetooth with no sound .

I will give it another try though. I just want to make sure I'm not the one in error. Actually as I am typing this with my Bluetooth connected it is hit and miss with keyboard tap sounds.

Overall though I am enjoying the speed and fluidity of how this device performs.

I think this may be software issue. I got that often with Lumia 950XL. It only fixes if i disconnect then reconnect bluetooth.

Just got the Alcatel in time for the Creators Update. Playing around with Proshot, I think the reason you think that alternate apps save image files in 9.88 megapixels instead of 21 megapixels is because you have been using the "wrong" resolution.

Typically image sensors aren't 16:9 in size, they are closer to 4:3. So if you save an image file in 16:9, then you are cropping out part of the image. I played around just now switching between 16:9 and 4:3 and Proshot changes the resolution from 9 to 21 accordingly.

Speaking of Proshot, I don't think the raw mode in proshot saves it in raw format untouched. Pretty sure that prior to saving it in the tiff format there has been denoising and such applied to the image beforehand.

Is there any way to configure Windows camera to save an image as DNG?

Edit: whoops, meant to quote RumoredNow a few posts earlier.

Ah, I'm a 16:9 shooter... So I just looked. 16:9 is locked to 9MP. That's still a huge reduction and must be a fault somewhere. 4:3 or 1:1 does toggle between 12MP and 21MP. So then 16:9 should toggle between 9MP and 16MP.

Neither one of the methods presented in this thread will work. http://forums.windowscentral.com/gu...10m]-enable-dng-capture-your-lumia-phone.html The registry hack seems to be limited to Lumias.

Darn, no DNG.

Yeah it's weird that switching the aspect ratio changes the resolution by that much. Also weird that you can change the image quality and noise reduction of the raw files but can't do it to the jpeg files. It should be the opposite!
