Also, Camera 360 Sight reads the 16:9 as 9.88 MP as well. This tells me it likely isn't ProShot's fault...

Yeah...I'm also wondering if the reason Proshot doesn't really save an actual raw file is because the Idol doesn't natively give you the option to save a raw file. I think whether you pick "sensor - raw" or "sensor - jpeg" it's taking a jpeg, which would explain the aggressive denoising.

Some shots i took on work of the sunrise. It's crazy how light works...

Just changing the focus area on the camera changed the picture totally.

All those pictures were the camera pointed at the sun, but I took a pic of the sky away from the sun for comparison purposes:

I have living images enabled on these photos. But they're all still until I edit them. Out in Virginia this week :). All of these below were moving shots from a car.

Machining an inside radius with ground cemented carbide cutting tool. Camera in auto mode, no edits, overhead shop lighting, handheld.

XElent pic!

I love machine work!
Makes my heart soar to know blue collar skills are still a part of life :)

Thanks. Been at it close to 40yrs. Still at the same place I started. I didn't know machining would become a rewarding career for me ... heck, I got hired there sweeping floors - never saw a machine shop. At the time it was just a job and I wanted some money.

I was contemplating joining the Air Force (I was 19 at the time). Got curious about machining and just ended up doing that lol.

Typically image sensors aren't 16:9 in size, they are closer to 4:3. So if you save an image file in 16:9, then you are cropping out part of the image. I played around just now switching between 16:9 and 4:3 and Proshot changes the resolution from 9 to 21 accordingly.
Every Windows phone I've ever had has worked this way with ProShot and the native camera apps as well. I don't recall my old Android Froyo phone but I think it worked that way also.
