Phone not switching on

My friend has a 520. She was swapping sims and when she put the other card on her phone and tried to switch it on, it wouldn't switch on. We assumed it was the battery cause she said it was almost flat when she switched it off. We've been charging it for the past hour and still no luck. Just shows the one red battery bar. And it is charging.

Perform a soft reset, by pressing volume down and power key at the same time for 15-20 seconds.

He said an hour had passed since charging, so this is not normal. If battery got empty, then phone restarts in 10 minutes on charging.

They were very patient by the way.

Just tried a soft reset. Didn't work. Still the same.

It happens with batteries on Nokias, you have two options, try to charge the battery with an universal charger then, do a soft reset before turn it on, if not work is not the battery, then try to use Nokia care software, could be a software problem

Remove the battery and again put it in place.

Did that too. She's thinking of taking it back (recently bought it).
