Pictures & Videos Taken With My Lumia 1520

re: Pictures & Videos Taken With My Lumia 1520

The 1020 still has a better camera than the 1520..I am coming from a 920 so I see an improvement in the pictures I get.

ah I guess coming from a 920 you would haha

Its just that a few "professional" reviews I read put the 1520 on par and beating the 1520 and I'm just not really seeing that myself.

re: Pictures & Videos Taken With My Lumia 1520

Here is my dinner tonight(the Top pic is from my new 1520) and the Second Pic is from my old 1020....

Overall the quality is good I suppose but i have to take more shots to get the best shot with my 1520 vs I can take one shot and it comes out great with the 1020...But i guess they do look more or less comparable but i prefer the quality of the 1020 it seems more sharper.

Yes, these pics were taken at separate times(the 1520 was tonight and the 1020 was like a month ago) but under near identical conditions.

Well, the 1020 should be a little better but those samples to me don't look too far off from each other. I'm not sure if the 1020 shot was slightly overexposed of the 1520 slightly underexposed. I can see some clipping on the 1020 shot in the highlights.

If I were doing post processing work I'd say I could get more editing work out of the 1520 shot in this case.

All of this bonds very well for the 1020 .. the Black update seems to improve the IQ quite a bit, that's why the difference b/w the 1020 and the 1520 doesn't seem to be as big.

The eye photo is very nice. Good macro. I wonder if naturally mobile cameras can't compare with actual stand alone cameras due to lens size.

This is actually half the frame - so am very impressed with the camera.

Im surprised I haven't seen anything about RAW images yet, or comparisons between RAW and post processed yet.

This is the first photo taken with my 1520. I just got the phone in the mail a few minutes ago, in fact it doesn't even have a SIM card yet. This is on auto with no adjustments.

Just a quick shot of a house that's on my mail route.

re: Pictures & Videos Taken With My Lumia 1520

I took a couple random food shots last night while working on a recipe for a casserole (Mexican Enchilada Meatloaf Tater Tot Casserole for anyone wondering). The only thing I did was manually set the focus on the Macro mode for the shots. I should also note that I have a hard time holding cameras completely still due to myoclonic jerks. So for me finding a camera phone that can handle my slight shakes and muscle spasms has been nearly impossible until now.

As you can see, these turned out surprisingly well.

I should also note that the white spots you're seeing in the top pic on the upper left are actually cat claw marks on my black office chair, not any odd picture artifacts. *grumbles*...and I normally don't take food photos. I think this is like the second set of food related photos I've taken in a year.
