re: Pictures & Videos Taken With My Lumia 1520
Darn you all
lol i need to figure out how to get my photos looking as great as yours!
Darn you all

My word! The 1520 produces reasonable .DNG raw files. Photoshop recognized them and opens them with Adobe Raw and you can do more or less the usual amounts of adjustment as with any raw file before sucking them into Photoshop itself. Better results perhaps than any 5 year old entry level SLR only because the larger number of megapixels allows for more cropping (In my view).
Otherwise about the same as my (now) old Nikon D3100. Well.... nearly.
Certainly the 1520/Zeiss-lens camera to Nikon differences are enough to mean I don't think I'd want to use the Nokia as a main camera for professional photography, as it isn't really good enough In my view under very low light conditions. I shot a parade at night with my Nikon and while it delivered good enough results, the Nokia could not handle it at all.
Is the Nokia good for casual "serious" camera use? Probably yes, especially with raw support. In any event it is one hell of an improvement over cell phones from even 3 years ago. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
The next generation of cell phone cameras really will challenge "proper" cameras.... I look forward to it.
We are having a snow day in Fort Worth today so I went for a walk and took some pictures.

I'm blown away how good OIS is in this camera. Here is two sample shots with ISO 100 and 200. Other is 1,7s shot and other is 0,7s shot. Both 100% hand held, only slight lean with my left hand to window. You can pull these shots every time if you know how.

Here's the secret how you can get images this sharp on slow shutter speeds hand held. When you tap to focus don't take shot right away after camera is focused. Let the OIS settle down few seconds. You can see how image stabilises near stand still if you wait few seconds. Then take shot and it comes out perfectly.
I can take images like i posted every freaking time now that i discovered this. Dunno if it was this way on 920 but 1520 really rocks.
1 more hand held, 100 ISO, 0,51s exposure. Simply wow i say

I think 200 ISO for low light shots would be ideal. Noise isn't problem and would give bit more playfield for sharper shots.
I'm loving my international Nokia 1520... 32gb/wireless charging but especially editing in raw DNG.

Pink taxis look familiar. What part of Thailand? bangkok?
Yup Bangkok... I'm from the states... but i'm here for work.. Which gave me the availability to buy the unlock international version of the 1520... so much better than the ATT version.
If you are going to have fun (clubs/strip clubs) don't take a wallet and only take the cash in your front pocket on what you plan to spend that night. Leave taxi money hidden in your back pocket.
Don't accept porn dvd's or buy any. Most are undercover cops and arrest you for buying child pornography...you have to pay big fines etc..
If you go to pattaya the beach close to bangkok dont rent the water jet skis. 50% of them are scammers. They will say you caused damages and make you pay big bucks. Cops are in it if you try not to pay.
pm me if you are interested in more info. A lot of scammers and kidnappers.
I'm blown away how good OIS is in this camera. .
