I try to keep it simple. Use the High Contrast Mode for the Black and White. People Hub/Photo just for some live tile action. Rest is the essentials.

Do wish there was a Black tile color scheme so that I could actually use lock screen wall papers.

that's a HTC thing, only updates every 30 mins on non-HTC hardware AFAIK
