No they do do this a company giving away promotional products to promote business that is no different then handing someone a business card. But pay someone to write reviews that is a completely different horse all together.

The Company in question was BELKIN. They had actively, well "they" = VERIFIED Employee, posted an advertisement for people to post "positve" reviews for their products and would be paid by the post. It was all over Engadget.
