If your phone is unlocked, and you connect it to any PC, the phone SHOULD lock itself and force you to enter your passcode. This security feature is not working. Instead an unlocked phone can be connected to any PC and all the files on the phone can be accessed without having to pass through any type of security.

If your phone is locked, files cannot be accessed - and it forces a passcode as expected.

no it will only ask for passcode if it's locked.

Never worked that way for me as you described. If it was unlocked and I plugged it into my computer it stayed unloacked.

It doesn't do this. At least not yet. Eventually it will ask you confirm data connection for USB.

Why should it ask for a password in the UNlocked state? Makes no sense.

It's not a bug. I've plugged in with it unlocked and the phone didn't auto-lock for either 8.0 or 8.1. Only if the phone was locked to begin with does it do that.

Hit the Search Button or Cortana App to load Cortana.

Type USB and Enter.

Swipe to right till you get to Phone and you will see an option for USB. You will then be taken to a hidden USB settings page that you can enable it to confirm Data Connection when plugged in.
