Let's add to the conspiracy out there. The only reason MS bough Nokia is because they found out that they were developing for Android and they couldn't allow that happening! :p

If Microsoft can make more money from patents than wp it makes business sense.

A hands off profit? Great, let's have some of that !

The real money is in getting a cut of the app sales. They don't get that with Android.

Exactly. They could milk the patents (android), market apps (wp), and device sales (Nokia with wp and android)) ... And really im wondering why they aren't.

They're a hardware company once again after buying Nokia, so it makes good sense to sell all the hardware they can....

Kick *** Nokia hardware with android folks stuffing ms pockets, and wp still gets its niche sales... It's win all around.

i have a feeling that ms is gonna go through with this. the nokia used in the movie fast and the furious 6 looks like it runs on android.

It would not surprise me at this point. MSFT's goal is to generate revenue. They don't care how they do it. It could even prove to be a good move. MSFT has the resources, both financial and intellectual, to put some real pressure on Sammy. I doubt it would take a lot of effort on MSFT's part. Sammy is the one with everything to loose.

Not shocking. Its a free OS and anyone could wrap plastic around that OS and sell it. Why wouldn't Nokia's developers investigate it as a possibility? I wouldn't doubt Microsoft and RIM's developers didn't do the same thing. Microsoft builds server software and uses Linux on its servers too. Are you shocked?

Nothing shocking at all. It makes good business sense, and I'd be more worried about them if they weren't working on backup plans.

I had never considered Nokia as my choice of brand. I only went to Nokia because of WP8. I currently still have a Samsung Focus with WP7 and I love it very much. It's light and durable. As a matter of fact I'm currently using the Focus instead of my Lumia 820 because the very first time I dropped the Lumia 820 the digitizer broke. So I'm not as impressed with the Nokia as I am with the Samsung Focus, it takes a licking and it keeps on ticking. Not that I like to drop test my electronics, but it happens and I have dropped my Samsung Focus many times and I never had an issue with it. I'm currently waiting for parts to replace the Digitizer in my Lumia. So I was just last night wondering if I could find a Samsung Focus with WP8.

So the Nokia brand is not why I have a Lumia 820. I have a Nokia because it has Windows Phone 8. So Nokia had my business because of WP otherwise I would have never considered Nokia as a brand of choice. So there are some of those of us that now have a Nokia because of Windows and if Windows Phone goes to a different brand I will follow Windows Phone to that other brand. Thinking of how much I enjoyed the Focus, It would be nice if Samsung also had the Windows Phone 8 available in one of their models. Just my thoughts.

I'm not bashing Nokia or promoting Samsung...I'm just expressing my experience with both of those brands.
