surface book - down arrow key doesn't work

I just noticed that the down arrow doesn't work on my <2 months old surface book, it must be a new thing because it was OK a few days ago. is this a known issue, can I fix it without using a warranty service?

detaching/rebooting didn't fix it, just to skip those questions.

addition: sharpkeys doesn't recognize when I push the down arrow button, maybe points towards a hardware failure?
