Surface pro 3 with dock and battery life

Hey guys,

I recently got the dock to replace my desktop with my surface and I absolutely love it

One thing though : If my surface is sitting in the dock for some days, will it charge a lot and will that affect battery life in the end?

My wife's laptop will only last half an hour because she always used it with the power cord... Don't want that to happen of course...

It won't hurt it at all to leave it plugged in or docked. Your wife's laptop may have battery issues, but it's not related to leaving it plugged in. If anything, that would extend the life of the battery. Her laptop probably just had a crappy battery which was not uncommon on laptops from a few or more years ago.

Your battery will lose its battery over time, If you leave it plugged in, it should extend it, I believe the half life of a battery is 2-4 years.
