One thing is certain. All Lumias will take Cyan until end of September
perhaps because Hong Kong is dual language and requires testing for Cortana/Xiao Na supporting both English and Mandarin.how is the update available in china for 1520 but not for hong kong
Tbh I'm now confused as to what is what , is Cyan Gdr1 ?? Or are they different, is Gdr1 an update too Cyan ?? If Gdr1 is released next week is it the fixed Cyan update ?
Microsoft have made this soo freekin painfully slow and confusing, I doubt they could have screwed this up any better than they have so far

It does seem to be getting closer though. It's peculiar, if we assumed it would be a few months we'd be less frustrated. It is precisely because it could be hours or days away that it seems so tantalising.
WP8.1 is the OS, GDR is an update to that. Cyan is a separate entity - it's the firmware for the phone.
Without firmware (Cyan) it would safe to assume then that 8.1 Gdr1 and some of its new enhancements will not work, so who is holding up Cyan, Microsoft or the networks ?? And why did company phones with bitlocker ever get the Dp installed ?? That tiny minority absolutely screwed up the Cyan rollout
I'm wondering if GDR1 will come with a new firmware update (when officially release ofc, not Developer Preview).
Firmware - firmware is the combination of persistent memory and program code and data stored in it. Black, Cyan etc are all Nokia firmware. You wont hear those names on HTC / Samsung WP devices (or diff firmware names). Normally updates in the firmware will simply enable use of hardware enhancements. This would enable Nokia or others to put some other customizations on top of it.Tbh I'm now confused as to what is what , is Cyan Gdr1 ?? Or are they different, is Gdr1 an update too Cyan ??
