Track WP8.1 + Lumia Cyan Rollout!

At this rate, I'll be able to buy a Windows Phone with 8.1 by the time the update hits my phone which is a HTC 8X.

Yeah when I contacted them for help on getting DP and saw how poorly HTC is with their caring about the 8x I sold it and bought Nokia.. I sold mine on amazon for $120 good condition and bought Lumia 920 in great condition $100 maybe consider your options haha

With the Andoid updates, just few developers care about it. and here with WP, we are trying to move the small number of users forward not to put them down...take a look on the long list of people asking here...Man it is 101 pages of comments...mainly " When?" & Why?" All the comments above are not deniable and they stand as real facts.

The WP users here on WPCentral are a very small part of the total users. The vast majority probably don't even know that an update is coming, or would even care if they did know. I doubt whether the "delayed" update has a noticeable effect on overall customer satisfaction.

Another reason why updates on this forum are so sought after could be because the major WP updates bring basic features that have been in other platforms for awhile. It could be said that updates are more necessary on WP than on iOS & Android.

Ah I can beat that, I still have my old 3110 not the classic but this http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/07/Nokia_3110.jpg came out in 98/99 or so I think. Single band beast.

First I am not here to argue...listing "Facts" Referring to the WPCentral 102 pages now is an example, and trust me a lot of those people do care about receiving those "basic feature". And it does hurt to see WP lacking as mentioned "basic feature".

This reminds me of when I had the Galaxy S2, ICS was released for months on Nexus devices but nothing on the SGS2, took forever to be released, after that I bought only a Nexus device. In fairness to android they have a lot of skins etc such as touchwiz, Windows Phone is the same on every device basically, so why this delay I do not know.

Apple is the only mfr. Makes it easy to do updates.

Yes I know, but users still complain. For one thing, releasing the update for all users at once causes network congestion. It's not uncommon for the update to take hours or simply fail if you jump on it right away. But still, Apple's methods is the best, IMHO.
