Turning off phone without using physical buttons

Asked about this in L920 land, but to no avail... Is there a way to turn the device off without using the power button? Is there an app for that?
The reason I ask is the physical keys have actually stopped working on my device after going through numerous Spinning Gear fixes, and I cant turn the phone off to reinitialize my SIM card.

As far as I know, having it run down or crash is the only way to do so without updating.

And as far as turning it back on... Should boot when it receives enough power, right?
I really need the L1520 to come to Canada already

Yeah if you put the charger on it will power on . But don't do it very often because the battery life will be reduced

Ahh this is sadly a no win situation. I'm going to have to buy a replacement housing+buttons and hope for the best. Thanks for everything guys!

install quick settings, open the flash light.. battery will die soonish

Can you pull the battery? Don't know what phone you have. You could also try this How to Soft Reset the Nokia Lumia 920 | WMPoweruser It's specifically for a 920 but should work with any Lumia. I'd try the soft reset first.

just change the language.. and it will ask you to restart the phone. hope that helps.
