Update fail at "Creating a backup"

While I was updating my samsung focus, everything went smoothly until it reached step 7. The update froze saying "Creating a backup". The PC or the phone didn't freeze but the update failed and I have read that the Omnia is having this issue too but I heard nothing about the Focus. If you have any idea what Windows is doing please feel free to talk about it.

Solution to identical problem

I had the exact same problem. The issue was the micro sdhc card. I don't know whether is was the card's class, partitioning, or what, but after trying everything under the sun, I removed the card. Then, I formatted the phone and began the update process. It completed -- no problem.
