i did the update via Nokia software update for retail for my Lumia 820
it flashed my phone with the new update, now i have
OS version: 8.0.10211.204 "did not change since it is not OS update"
Firmware : 1232.5957.1308.0001

it downloaded 1.27 GB ... and the flashing took 13 min

everything is just fine now

And there are any differences? Asking cause I flashed my wife's 620 yesterday and everything is pretty much the same.
So I might wait for OTA to update my 820.

well ... a notable change .. no you wont find ... since usually firmware updates are more like "base" for next level of apps or OS update ...
some minor stuff has changed such as the sensitivity of the screen, it was a drop menu now its on off switch
some description texts have been modified and so on.

im saying, you must have this update, but no need to rush, you can wait OTA, specially that OTA does not require "erase" all personal data and stuff

Main difference for me is that automatic brightness is working.

Also the proximity sensor seems sorted.

so I'll wait for OTA because I don't experience those issues. Although I'm a 820 user, not 920.

Well, nobody really knows. I was only assuming it would happen earlier in the week.

Darn. I'm close to selling mine. (again). It would be nice to have the most recent update already installed. I miss some of my Android apps.

I didn't hear today. I think the article I read mentioned it was "happening now", but that didn't give a time/date, nor did anyone in the forums says they received a notification for such an update

It (.1249.) is portico. This one (.1308.) is also portico but with updated Nokia firmware.
