The stylus on the surface pro works on the Samsung ATIV. In fact, it seems to be interchangeable with the s-pen.

Odd, since usually Wacom styluses don't work between models. But there ya go. :)

Re: Useless fact.

I wouldn't say that's useless.

That's actually something that's helpful, since people who have both the Surface Pro and the Samsung ATIV wouldn't need to buy another stylus.

Don't they both include the stylus? :)

I suspect it'll work on the Note series of devices too, since they use the S-Pen.

Slightly off subject. Yes I'd like to know if the Surface Pro includes the stylus, because I was at Staples last week looking at one and the sales associate said it wasn't included.

Pro, yes. RT, no.

Re: Useless fact.

I knew it! That sales ass was just being lazy and pretended she went to the backroom and looked at the display unit's box. Curses!

Great job of taking a simple thread pointing out interchangeable use of a couple brands of stylus, and turning it into your own little ignorance and insult festival. Please grow up or just shut up if that is not possible. There are several reasons irrelevant to this thread as to why a Staples associate could have made a simple mistake - they really do happen. None ever merit though insulting the person. It is also always very easy to be the puffed up alpha character on an internet forum since the internet (sadly) allows ignorance and cowardice to masquerade as boldness. If you are an adult try acting your age. Alternatively, if you are underage, mommy and daddy need to be monitoring your internet usage. Granted, for some chronological adults they should still have their internet usage monitored by people whose adulthood is measured by their level of actual maturity.

Congrats on taking this thread even more off topic.

Yikes, take a chill pill. He said pissy frazzle dazzle ("curses!"), so it didn't seem like he was that upset. You on the other hand...

Re: Useless fact.

I can use the hp tx2000 stylus on the surface too. The technology is exactly the same so there is no reason why it shouldn't work.

Re: Useless fact.

I think any Wacom stylus will work. I have an S-Pen that works and I also have a stylus from an old Toshiba M200 that also works. Since I had 2 extra Toshiba stylus', I now have 3 extra pens for when I inevitably lose the Surface pen.

Hmm, provided the next S-RT surface supports the Wacom stylus I may look into getting one and then getting an S-Pen to go with it. Can anyone confirm if the S-Pen works on the S-RT please?

Re: Useless fact.

I can confirm the s-pen from the galaxy note phone does work with the surface pro and vice-versa.

Yes, the pen from Note II works as well - saved my butt a couple of times when I forgot the Surface pen to a meeting...

Actually, If you have an Intuos 4/5 or Bambo series, their pens might even work.

I bought one Stylus at the Microsoft Store. It has a round end where you can move the computer around instead of your finger. I like it because then my finger prints don't cover the screen. One bad part is that you can't write on the screen with it. I have to use the surface pen for that. The other side of the stylus is a real pen, not a pen for writing on the computer screen. I am looking for a hybrid of the surface pen and with a round end at the end so that you can use it to navigate on the screen. When I have the computer in laptop mode, docked with a type cover, I use my finger to navigate but when in tablet mode on my surface pro, I use a pen.

Actually, newer Wacom pens (and others' pens) do work across capacitive touch devices, although it does depend on each device supporting it, and on the availability of drivers that enable software capacites. Each software company -Adobe, for instance, has to work with the hardware company to design and produce the appropriate drivers.

Intuos doesn't from what I've seen. (Got the 5 on my desktop.)
All the styli mentioned in this thread so far are the same brand (WACOM).

It's not a useless fact, at least not for me. My Samsung ATIV came with a nice but half size digitizer, and the only alternative they offer is the Series 7 pen, which lacks the rubber coated tip. I might consider the Surface digitizer as an option. I'm a bit confused about how they have it listed on the MS site as "works exclusively with the surface Pro".

Regardless, thanks for posting!

I have an Intuos 3. I'll see if it works tomorrow.

If it does, that would rock.

I don't really like the Surface pen because there's only a right and left click. I want a middle click.
