Saw a pink XZ2 (white front) that was slightly tempting. The color doesn't matter to me (purple, green, even red in my past). Think I'll wait for a better deal.

Well, it's official. No Mate 10 Pro (sadly), no V35 (maybe next year on the bin). I was lusting for a Mate 10 Porsche + Skagen combo harder than old Dolt at a beauty pageant dressing room. I'll still get the Skagen and its ****ty battery life on the cheap, but it looks like the dark horse won out.

While I always liked the Z2 back in the day, I went with the Z3 instead (piano black to that silver green). While I like what Sony did with the XZ3 this year, I went in reverse. Crazy indeed.

Pixel 2 on small phone/when I need to go do grungy community visits/ twice a week status. No more kit until the summer. Likely to fix my HTC 10 in the spring.

I'd actually like to get a new phone but it will have to wait a bit. Finances are being utilised elsewhere.

If I had a choice I'd get a Nokia but at the moment they haven't got anything I want.

I'm a little tried of Sony. I may consider a Pixel but not sure. Don't want to spend ridiculous money on a phone.

But like I said. No hurry at the moment. Need to sort out other things first.

Well, it certainly wasn't planned. Was going to wait for a much longer time to pick up something. I suppose now that I have it, I'll move on to the other things I'm working on with earnest.

To be honest, they're all the same now in the high end space and not worth the prices. Even this phone is overpriced at $700 in Best Buy (I paid nowhere NEAR that).

Also, in terms to something I recently shared, the feelings roller coaster is a bit more stabilized? I don't think it's over for me, but I want to be sure if it should be or not.

I was told yesterday that I need to separate my feelings from how I feel versus how my parents feel and what they want me to do in terms of him. The feelings are muddled, because a lot does align.

I like that the design looks better this time and the T-Mobile partnership (along with working on Verizon!) is really nice. Aside from those things, eh.

Even that doesn't move the needle for me. My two favorite OnePlus devices are the OPO (which I owned) and the OPX (a poor man's Z3) which I liked and they shat all over software support wise.

I think you went from the 920 to the Z3 and then the XZS. I'd be tired of Sony too doing that. I'm not sure what HMD Global is doing in the high end space. I thought the 8 was good and the 8 Sirocco was OK too, but I guess they're waiting for the time to be right to put out anything in the high end.

So i gave the Note 4 a try again and it seems much faster. I think I did the disabling of bloatware wrong before. It's solid now. The battery life isn't ideal (but I put an inactive SIM in it to see if that helps any) but at least it's noticeably less clunky now.

I own the XZ. Which is a nice phone if a touch blocky. It's nice and zippy still so can't really complain. Photos are still decent. For what I use it for it's good. I'm no power user but I see a time where I will need it more if what I'm planning to do works.

I like the look of Nokia phones but I don't like the specs much. As you stated, I'm still waiting to see what they bring out in the top end but I'm hoping it's not top end pricing.

I'm in no hurry and I'm definitely not going to buy a first gen either unless it gets stellar reviews.

In other news we're having a cold snap here. The last couple of days has been single digits during the day and around zero at night. On top of that rain.

Today is nicer though. I'm hoping this winter is better than last year's. That was crap.
