WC 1M Post Challenge - You Ready?!

It's interesting the wide range of views on commercial sex work. Mine has always been that the sore points for me is the deeply exploitative nature of this industry.

It's never been some of those idyllic individualistic choice situations where workers have ful autonomy. Nor is it merely those fully controlling exploitation of kids. These are merely different points on the same continuum. Not sure if legalizing commercial sex work will help based on the current cultural contrary ideas surrounding sex.
Case in point:

Political power and religious power are one and the same. To wit: the Evangelicals in this country have been disgustingly silent about their “messiah” Lord Cheetoh and his philandering, lying ways. Oh but that tan suit Obama wore, rack him!!
The only reasons why they like him is simple. He says the right things to them and he appears to be like them, including they inability to talk properly.

Just for the record.

For me I look at it from a safety perspective.

If there is going to be a sex industry it should be a safe one, regardless what the sex industry is. That's my only point to this.

I don't think we could actually have a world where it didn't exist so to me it might as well be as safe possible and legal. Because with legality comes responsibilty.

Now whether it would change anything in the USA or those countries where it's banned I don't know. There's simply a lot of issues with people's perspective on women, especially, in this industry. Saying that, even men have issues as well. Listen to the podcasts I suggested.

So the stigma that goes with this industry is strong.

As for the issues you point out. I don't disagree with you at all but I believe legalising and putting standards in would make things a lot better. In the sex industry exploitation has always been an issue. Well it's the name of the game isn't it?

My perspective in life it's this. I still see humans as very immature when it comes to sex and a long way from maturity. I don't think that perspective will change much life time.

It is for those reasons surrounding the issues of maturity (which included how bodies are viewed) you listed at the very end why legalizing this industry will be problematic. I'm not really a podcast person, but I'll listen to the stuff you suggested. I suspect that some of the questions I have from my professional lens won't be answered in those podcasts either. Having seen some of the worst of what commercial sex work has to offer, it's going to take a real societal attitudinal shift to ensure the safety of sex workers. That's not going to happen here in the US, sadly.

It's not that I don't agree with you. It's just that until some connected issues get properly addressed, the sex industry - especially the parts dealing with sexual services - will continue to be as risky (at best) and dangerous (at worst) as all hell.

What he is doing is one of the oldest tricks in the politrickian play book - pandering to the base. The unfortunate point is some of the people he panders to are so wrapped up in their privilege, they're busy seeding over power for the pillaging of the rest of us with complicit silence. The only time they'll shriek in disapproval is when they cannot get to have business as usual.

Went to get a line up today. The GF was complaining I was looking a little too wolly mammoth so I had to do something. Didn't help that my barber was on vacation before I had seen him.

So I went into a traditional chain to a trim. Met a really nice (east) Indian woman and had a great conversation. The problem was, I could tell she was not experienced in cutting my hair. She lined me up OK and I felt it if she had been taught how to cut my hair by the pros, she would have done a good job. That's why I just let her trim the beard and do a line up.

It'll get me over until I go see my regular person in two weeks.

Finally got to meet others like me today (in the orientation sense) and that was great. We had a good time and it's nice to meet local people, as I am tired of being the only one I know.

Hopefully I can be more familiar with people so that I can make friends who share this with me.

Give it time. It'll happen.

Thank you. You're correct.
I just have to show up to things more often to build that. I have signed up for the next thing. It helps that some of us have interests that cross.
My friend is a workaholic and complains about not being able to meet people.

I thought you couldn't meet people if you're at work all the time, but that's just me.

Looking forward to setting up the new device on Tuesday.
Not from a place of excitement, really. I did enjoy the V35 and the seller I bought it from is now listing the black model at $200 - which is unbeatable. Still, I do want to set up the new device. If there isn't any screen burn in and there's minimal wear, it should be good enough to get by.

Truth be told, if this drama wasn't surrounding my HTC 10, I'd have used that for a while and gotten something else.

Having used the Mate 20 Pro as a daily driver, I can see why some folks have taken well to Huawei devices. They've really done a very nice job on the hardware front. They've really stepped up on the camera - stills - side as well. Software support hasn't been bad either as I've gotten some updates as well. Battery life has been solid as I don't have anxiety when using the device.

There are just a few things have kept me from using this as a permanent daily driver. I really think that the Mate 10 size was my personal favorite footprint. I also still prefer MIUI vs EMUI easily. There's also still some shadiness to Huawei as a company I don't like.

Overall, they have earned their place as an OEM. It's just the trade war of DJT vs Xi and using Huawei as a pawn really hurts all OEMs. But if ZTE can start to recover, Huawei will weather this too.

I do like some simple touches in EMUI. I've appreciated the smart screen select that adjusts screen resolution to converse power. I don't think it's a bad skin, just LG's, it's just not for me.
