WC 1M Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Uhm, I just saw a video of a landlord locking down a church, because they weren't obeying no gathering laws.
How does a church have a landlord? I mean, that's not what I'm used to seeing.

It's one of those churches that are small congregations that isn't a major religion and doesn't have its own building like a Catholic/Anglican etc church.

These are all over the place in the USA and especially in the southern states. Baptists/Protestant or some form of it.

They typically break off from another church and form their own branch. Being ever more radical and righteous.

Here's a joke that will help you understand:

Once I saw this guy on a bridge about to jump. I said, "Don't do it!" He said, "Nobody loves me." I said, "God loves you. Do you believe in God?"

He said, "Yes." I said, "Are you a Christian or a Jew?" He said, "A Christian." I said, "Me, too! Protestant or Catholic?" He said, "Protestant." I said, "Me, too! What franchise?" He said, "Baptist." I said, "Me, too! Northern Baptist or Southern Baptist?" He said, "Northern Baptist." I said, "Me, too! Northern Conservative Baptist or Northern Liberal Baptist?"

He said, "Northern Conservative Baptist." I said, "Me, too! Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region, or Northern Conservative Baptist Eastern Region?" He said, "Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region." I said, "Me, too!"

Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1879, or Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1912?" He said, "Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1912." I said, "Die, heretic!" And I pushed him over.

Progressive rock tends to be something one either loves or hates. From my experience, there is no medium.

BTW, do you like Porcupine Tree and/or Steven Wilson? I like both. My favourite solo album by Wilson is "The Raven that Refused to Sing".

I haven't listened to either of those but should.

I've always liked odd music timings. Even when I played music so many years ago.

I was an Iron Maiden fan when younger and they're definitely Prog Rock. Rush is another.

There's a few others I've listened to that fit that description as well.

Ok two days in a row I've been contacted by recruiters...

Both jobs were not to my liking or skill set.

Must be really be bored.

What? So you can start your own religion, legally? We have similar stuff in islam, but they're not legal by any means, religiously or otherwise. You may have heard of them in the recent years.

But I'll agree, religions can be funny sometimes.

Then people wonder why atheists don't take religion seriously...

I don't take religion seriously all the time myself, but there are certain aspects of atheism that really do bug me. Now this is not geneally speaking, just based on an experience with an atheist friend of mine.

Had a first online exam today. It was all over the place. Questions were full of synonyms of words and terms we usually use (so we can't just CTRL+F them from pdf), they were ambiguous and just weird.
Don't know what to expect.

Yes atheists can be annoying and jerks... Just like anyone else.

Being an atheist doesn't make you a good person by any means. It should, but it doesn't.

What bothers you specifically? Speaking as an atheist I'm curious.

How so? I find that atheists don't try to ram their beliefs, on non-beliefs, down people's throats. I actually find religeous zealots a whole lot more irritating. My father-in-law is a JW and they don't come more irritating than them. My wife and him constantly argue because she labels them as a cult. Now with Uncle Donny in the picture, Thanksgiving is a riot.

I'm not sure about everywhere but in the USA it happens a lot. It's not so much a new religion as a branch of a current one thats practiced differently

Some go more strict, others more liberal.

It was a general statement. Just like saying some people are jerks.

JW...

I sometimes wonder who's worse. JWs or Scientologists...

The best part of the JWs beliefs is the irony.

They believe there's only as certain number who will make it into heaven as the chosen people... They're way past that number. There's others but that's my favourite.

Yeah it's as cult but then in general, that's what religion is. A big cult.
