We are now on conditional MCO... but I'm still all for social distancing.... wouldn't mind some isolation like this either!
Flashback to two years ago.... Timba Timba Island, Semporna. Its basically a sliver of sandbar

We can drive anywhere now. However state borders are closed. One need travel permits for that (QR code on handphone). Airports are closed.
The thing exposed the ugliness within some people and local politics. Things like treatment of migrant workers, handling of refugees, racism etc. It also brings out the good in a lot of folks, care mongers, helping each other.

Pixel 3a went dead today. Needed a power button and volume down combo to wake it up. Happened twice. Pinged Google and they want me to send it in for repairs. Thank goodness I still have about 15 odd days left on the warranty

So looks like the S20 is going to be the daily driver.

That's so weird! I'm glad that you're within the warranty too.

I hope it doesn't take long to repair.

So today I made an objection about a particular design at work

It was a well written email stating my objections from a professional point of view.

I've also refused to sign the drawings to make my point.

I haven't heard anything back yet.

Not sure what they're doing but my guess is they're looking into my points.

At least I hope they are.

Can't help it. I have ethics and a reputation to worry about. Can't just do things because people tell me to.

Come on man, why are you doing this to me. It's so pretty. If I were to step into our river I'd die from an instant heart attack.

Americans going on about murder hornets... (Asian hornets)

We already have those over here. For once, you're not number one.

But I'm sure you'll end up with the most deaths or stings from them.

In all honesty. It's not good though. They kill honey bees.

They also eat all your fruit off your trees.

B@stards really and big.

So my assumption was correct.

The electrical manager just agreed to this design change without checking regulations and standards.

So I'm not putting my name to the drawings.

The engineering manager is happy to have his name instead.

Personally, I wouldn't.

I thought I was done with school but not yet. Got a very last minute thing to do that will take a bit. At least after it, I will be done with everything for school. My classmates gave me a virtual round of applause the other day as a way of saying congratulations. I was touched, as I didn't expect that at all! So sweet.

So just filled out the return to office plan for the team.
Based on guidelines from Newsom (Governor), LA County and city mayor they will start letting people in slowly from May 18.
We are supposed to have 50% of my team on site by end of July and the remaining 50% by end of August - all dates subject to change.
They will have IR cameras to check temperature for us when we enter the building.
Strict social distancing guidelines in every work area. Anyone not wanting to come back to work can continue to work from home.

Well it looks like the French has had enough...

Traffic is mental at the moment.

People doing a bolt for the long weekend.

So much for Monday....
