MCO day 60
... and then there were three... not quite Genesis, but a sad day...
Gave away two of the kittens, the healthiest and biggest of the lot..

I'm glad that two kittens will be looked after in loving homes.

My favourite version of Genesis is: Banks, Collins, Gabriel, Hackett and Rutherford.

A friend of mine from NYC said that there's a church called St John the Divine that has peacocks on its premises. They just roam about the outside of the church property but don't wander off. He said that one peacock is albino.
Speaking of peacocks we have at least two males in the park beside us. We can hear them from our balcony. I assume there's females as well but I haven't seen them.

They are on an island in the middle of one of the lakes. They can roam about freely. They can't fly though.

I'm always a bit sad about birds in captivity.

Well I'm a sad about anything in captivity to be honest. I sometimes even struggle with the idea of dogs and cats. Though they've both been bread for thousands of years now domestically.

Just realized why things are feeling so hectic because work is still going full bore but now we are trying to get things done in 4 days versus 5 before.
I'm in a similar position.

My project is currently at peak where everything needs to be done.

I'm a bit stressed. Aside from the oddity of working from home I've had to deal with last minute changes that then put other things behind. Things that were already behind due to other issues out of my control.

This has been one very messy project. I hope to never be on another one like this again.

If I stay with this company long term (a few years) I'm almost certain it will happen again unless changes happen.

Just trying to determine if I want to be the voice of change or not.

So today I'm going into central Paris. Don't plan to stay too long but just want to see things a bit empty.

It will still have people, more than I like, but it will be interesting.

I had no idea that peacocks were pets. What sounds do they make?

Oh, the peacocks belong to the park. I've known people who have had them as pets (like chickens except you don't 'use' them). You need the land for it though. They like roam around.

If you have the peahens you can eat the eggs if you want.

This is the sound the male makes.

Florida had nothing on Australia.

You want to see a human destroyed eco system go there.

It's a real big mess. Unfortunately you never hear that outside Australia.

Then there's Europe...

Yes, Australia the forgotten land in that regard. What ended up being chattel slvarry was initially tested out in Australia, so opportunity have screwed the land there have been in place for eons.

It's a big mess in Australia.

Not just the eco damage, injected species and heavy reliance on coal.

They also do a lot of dumb things like privatise the water systems, in a land that suffers from drought on a regular basis and then screws over the small farmers because some big company can pay for the water, which ends up flooding the banks of the river rotting the forests and killing wildlife.

That's a small snapshot of the stupidity there.

There's a lot more examples I can give. I know the USA does stupid things like this as well. Where do you think the Aussies got their inspiration from?

Australia is a small America in a lot of ways but at least it has some social systems still. However hard the conservatives try to destroy or weaken them.

America isn't the best place to emulate certain things from, but some will always try.

Had mixed feelings about being back in the office yesterday. It all had reminded me how different life is now. I've preferred my trips to the office during the pandemic as it's reminded me of who much I like having my own office space.

It's a lot to digest and sift through.

I really do like typing on the slightly wider devices. It's why the LG V35 and the Pixel 3XL are treats for me to use. In hand feel is still so hard to explain, but even though the dimensions are similar, the V50 feels a bit more cramped in comparison to the 3XL.

So at lunch we went into Paris centre. We ordered some food online at a vegan burger joint (had a Beyond Burger) and picked it up. Ate in the car because all the parks are closed. Even if they were open probably wouldn't go in.

Then took a drive over to the 7th arrondissement. Got a picture of a door that I've been wanting to get for some time and while there, since it's close by, shot of the tower.

If you look closely at the door it's a bit interesting.
