We were having a barbecue today and cousin made a huge fire, a bit too much, but still okay. Then everything went to sh**. Apparently, there was a bullet in one of the pieces of the wood. A bullet probably from 1992-1995, that got stuck in a tree that ended up in our barbecue.

It obviously exploded, broke the barbecue and slammed into a nearby wall. There's a nice hole in it now.

Nobody got hurt thankfully, but it could have easily gone the other way.

I'm so tempted go to pub for a coffee.
But nobody's really respecting the safety measures, so that's keeping me away for now.

Our University is acting very confused (?) right now. One moment they're saying we're going back to classes, later they give us an info that everything is to be held online.
The official senate voting is on 27th, that's when it's going to be official. I have a feeling our exams will be online after all.

So I was seeing so many #covidiots out today I was getting shortness of breath.

I hope that I'm just hallucinating and my cause for concern is unfounded. But I won't lie - everything has lined up roughly how I hope it didn't go so far, and that has me uneasy.

My wife used to work in the timber industry in the 90s, got transferred to Cambodia. Lotsa stories of the mill, about bullets and metal fragments embedded in fresh logs. Imagine stopping operatiions cos of something that happened 10-20 yrs ago.

Here, things were going kind of well, considering how corrupt and irresponsible people in the power are. But, yeah, a huge but, the guy in charge of managing the crisis just got suspended because of those same respirators that NY Times wrote about and they're probably going to remove all the measures by 1st of June.

I want things back to normal. But I don't think we cam do that just yet. Not this fast.

Same thing here. I've seen landmines washed up on the road by rain.

I've come to a simple conclusion.

I don't think any country is going to lockdown a second time unless the virus becomes very deadly. Even with a second wave.

They simply can't afford to.

So there will be spikes and an effort to contain things but the rush to return to normal is high on everyone's agenda. Death counts will go up infection rates will increase but I doubt these containment measures will return.

I'm not sure I like being part of an experiment.

Just going by what I saw yesterday while out I think they would have a hard time returning to confinement measures. There's going to be huge spikes everywhere that's for sure.

We're all stuck in this sad experiment, really. It's now shifted to navigation of the financial fallout as primary vs the health ramifications as secondary.

I just don't know. All I'm sure of is that I don't like any of this at all.

Lots of this plan I really don't like, especially when it comes to work. There hasn't been much effort to answer certain pertinent questions. It is why I have to think of my own plan as to how I'll manage the physical parts of the job until when I can see what leadership is doing. Even then, I still likely will modifily certain things.

It was always going to be scary without the presence of an effective long term therapy. I do agree that the scientifically ideal thing to do is to wait until that therapy is developed. Economically, that's not feasible. When you got too much people on earth, how governments handle decisions like these are very telling. I know how disposable the current president views me, so I have to find my own way.

Had to go to Whole paycheck for a few items. Traffic had certainly picked up. I'm off on Friday so I'll do a run then and will play the frequency by ear. Again, mixed feelings.

Problem is the current fridge is too small. Plus she's a vegetarian so I cannot traditionally shop how I want so I'm not in the supermarket a lot. Will make it work.
