It's really a pain. With the SIM in the Pixel, if I want to use music I have to use the dongle (if I can find it). The basic setup in the phone is OK audio wise. Otherwise, I have to turn on an LG. Again, for many people, it's irrelevant. For me, it's a hassle. We'll see how long it goes for. Finding good 3.5mm headphones is always pain. Finding USB C ones has been much, much worse.
These precision skins are annoying. I'm going to order a standard one instead so I can use the cases I have. Again, Pixel isn't bad...i can feel the battery crunch though. Even though it's a measly 560mah smaller than the V50, it does make a difference.

It's often very interesting the choices OEMs makes in marrying hardware and software. What makes good battery life? Every user is different. I found the battery on the LG G7+ was useless. High res IPS screen + 3000mah was no good. I got better battery life on that in comparison to the Pixel 2 (1080 P OLED + 2700mah). I got better battery life on the V35 (6.0" 2K screen + 3300mah) vs V40 (6.4" 2K screen + 3300mah). I think the battery life was slightly better on the V35 vs the 9 Pureview (6.0" 2K screen + 3320mah), even though the battery size is about the same. Battery was about the same between the V35 and XZ2 (5.7" 2K screen + 3180mah). In initial use, the battery feels the same between the Pixel 3XL (6.3" 2K screen + 3430mah) and the V40. It feels like the SD845 was...so-so with 9.0 especially.

I get similar battery life on Mate 20 Pro (Kirin 980 + 4200mah) as I do with the V50 (SD855 + 4000mah). Very interesting that Huawei is more aggressive in battery management and it feels on par.

Keep in mind for the 2K screens, I run it at 1080P, not 2K. It's why I feel that the Sony Xperia 5 ii should give similar battery life to the Mate 20 Pro and V50.

All very interesting.

Quick update on the Dell XPS 13. Ended up with an out of box static crackling noise issue without the fan running. Spent 2 hours on the phone with customer service based in Delhi, India. At the end of it they agreed to replace it. Replacement is on its way and has 32GB RAM instead of the 16GB on the one I got. If it turns out to be true that will be awesome.

The poco f2 pro I can find for $560 for the top end and $500 for the base. Man, it is all so expensive. It's still an interesting device if someone wants to tinker on good cheap hardware.

Today is a day of fighting people to listen. It gets like that in my line of work.

You’re not alone. No offense to Rue but his profession is filled with the most incompetent idiots. At least in South Florida.

How’s the old Mark Twain quote go “better to keep your mouth shut and let the world think you’re an ***** than to open it and remove all doubt”.

That's one of my favorite phrases. But I don't mind when asshats put their foot in their mouths - makes it easier for me to spot them.

I've never worked in the USA but I've heard some stories...

People I've personally worked with have been very good though.

You always run into idiots though in any industry.

I'm rolling in a ton of jackasses here you'd have thought I owned a farm or had a Cabinet post in your cousin's current administration.

I didn't want to rile you up. Both engineers and architects are relying on copy and paste too much and there is zero review. Not to mention that design teams don't talk to each other further complicating the clusterf**ks they create. MEP engineers are the worst.

Work has been crazy busy. But it looks like things should take down around mid July. Also return to work is looking like August instead of July.

Been busy installing a chicken wire fence in the backyard to keep the jackrabbit out from our vegetable garden. The fencing should get done by the weekend.

Finally asked work to give me a new laptop. Due to Covid-19 my X2 never went in for repairs and the loaner is over 5 years old with a puny 4GB RAM with a wonky wifi card. Hopefully they'll ship one home soon. It's a HP 830 14inch version.

I heard jackrabbit cooked well is good meat but I doubt that's happening in your house.
