WC 1M Post Challenge - You Ready?!

How might this impact your schedule? From what I remember, you pull some serious travel miles for work...

It will probably mean a lot more travel in the second half of the year or during summer months when hopefully the virus will take a breather.

You'll survive. Just pay it and move on. I too was surprised when it first happened to me.

I will for sure. Do you remember if anything changed to make you pay? I feel like the only change is starting a Roth so I don't know if I should look into it or not.

For the sake of everyone, including you, I hope you're right that the virus takes a breather. Considering the cluster**** of a global response, I have my doubts.

Mine was I made a mistake in the prior year and Uncle Sam put one hand on my shoulder and the other in my pocket on my wallet.

Yeah but I already have had one trip to Asia this year. Had two in the last 4 months last year. It is getting a bit hectic.

My accountant made a mistake. There was a very very specific but very obscure change that happened in June 1990 which my brilliant CPA was not aware of and Uncle Sam and my CPA (indirectly me) have been fighting for almost 7 months. We believe we just got it resolved - I finally send my updated California state returns to the Franchise Tax Board two days ago.

I could make a nice down payment on a car with the extra money Uncle Sam took.
And because of the take over of my previous employer the extra tax I paid was equivalent to a down payment on a house in most parts of the USA including CA.

Aw dude you just reminded me of a commercial in Brazil when you mentioned Uncle Sam putting his hand on your shoulder.

It was for a Angie’s List type of service and the premise was the importance of finding a qualified professional and it was a guy getting a prostate exam. The doctor puts a hand on the guy’s shoulder and just as he’s telling him everything is going to be ok he puts his other hand on the dude’s other shoulder and the commercial ends. Yikes!!

It's very unfortunate to hear you had to go through that.

Uncle Sam does that to a wide swath of people. It is also one of the reasons why I don't play the lottery - Uncle Sam always gets a cut of the winnings.
