When I connect my phone to the laptop, it keeps on connecting and disconnecting. Why?

When I connect my device Vivo Y83 with my Dell Inspiron laptop, it keeps on connecting and disconnecting with an error message "The device has been stopped responding or has been disconnected." But when my brother Connects his Redmi note 7 pro with my Dell Inspiron laptop he faces no such problem. Also, I can easily connect my phone with my friend's Asus laptop, and face no such disconnecting issues. Where does the problem lies?

Try a different USB port on the computer or a different cable to start with.
