Will the ICON become outdated after WP 8.1?

Like the title says, will WP 8.1 phones be different?

I know 8.1 will be backwards compatible but will a phone built specifically for 8.1 have some characteristics that the ICON won?t?

If so, what a waste!!!

well we only know about the features and there was a rumor before that Nokia will have a 3D gesture support and that there will also be a WP with dual Sim support, apart from does 2, it might only be software improvements.

Yes, it will be outdated. It will be the equivalent of a Tandy 1000 wearing parachute pants and sporting a jheri curl.

Listen, this isn't Windows Phone 10. This is a .1 version of an OS coming to a phone that is the most advanced WP8 device on the market. So take a chill pill, this phone will be like totally righteous!

They released the 928 only a few weeks before amber/gdr2 and it was updated immediately. Plus with the developer preview there is no such thing as outdated.

im pretty sure all WP that will be released this year will be revealed on Feb25 at the conference.

No offense, but that is ridiculous. Nokia is unlikely to release any more WP devices until WP8.1 is unveiled, and that won't be until after MWC. Even then to say that we'll know everything coming for the rest of the year goes against the pattern we've seen from them. Even last year, the 928, 925, 1020, 1320 and 1520 were all revealed after MWC, and those were the BIG releases while MWC only saw low end reveals.

Oh, and for the record, the 1820 is mythical.

I think it has been stated by many other members here before, but waiting for the "NEXT" phone is silly. You only have a set number of devices to play with before you die, why rob yourself of even a single one. There will always be better hardware for better software in the pipeline. Grab each one as soon as you can, and upgrade as often as financially feasible. :amaze:
