The Guardian today has given information for ios and android users on how to save battery power for their phones etc. This helpful piece is because of new flight restrictions.

All the information for saving battery power for both android and ios and one small paragraph at the bottom that similar applies to windows phones.

So as I know how to use my phone and other devices, I'm assuming that they're assuming, that windows phone users are more tech savvy than say someone with an iphone.

I jest because for the life of me I haven't a clue how to put that link to the article on here.
If you are unaware of how to save battery power on your phone , I found this piece of information on bing news via the Guardian.

How did you do that?
I really need a manual on all the things I should be able to learn.
Did you do that from your phone?
Apart from me I think windows phone users are smarter. At least on here they are.

I did it from a web browser on a computer. Simply copy/paste. Same philosophy on a phone. Just copy the address in the web browser and paste in the text box of taptalk or the wpc app.

Yes the are less tech minded on average simply because its adopted much more by 'all kind of people' which doesn't say anything about ios android or WP users at all.

I still don't really understand what is going on here.

But this is my theory and it has nothing to do with the smartness of people.

In the UK, Apple has a smartphone market share of 32.1 %, Android has a smartphone market share of 56.2 %. Windows Phone has a share of 9.1 %.

Maybe they focused in the article on the operation systems that are used by the most people and therefore made only a small remark about Windows Phone.

The thread was a bit of a tongue in cheek joke as to why a national newspaper needed to spell out in a long article how to save battery on iOs and Android devices and only have a small paragraph at the end for Windows Phone.

The OP didn't know how to link the article so I did it in my comment for them, adding our own 'tips' article and then explained how to post links.

The information is slightly important if you plan to travel to the US from the UK and I guess the EU in general. Any devices that don't turn on at the airport will cause a lot of hassle for you. This is due to the new terrorist threat of having explosives that are apparently undetectable by the usual scanning methods.

Thanks for that explanation. That's exactly what I was doing.
I seem to have a lot to learn regarding forums as well as adding links to articles.

No worries. We have people from all over the world here and slight humour like that can be hard to detect.

Your link in your other post is working fine.

Because for Guardian, WP is almost nothing to worry about. They are focusing their attention to a more popular platforms like android and iOS. But basically, battery saving tips is standard for all devices no matter what OS they are running. Number 1 tip is to turn off GPS/Location services. Continuous satellite scanning drains the battery too fast.

I use Windows Phone AND Android. Where does that put me? The sum of both? The average of the two? The result of WP - Android?

A weird chimera of some sort: a Windroid or an Androws.

Just so you know what end to feed and what end to crop out of, eh?
