wpcentral app crashing on start after 521 update

Jay it opens on the app but only that news article. No errors but can't open news feed in to the app. Have bare with me I am not a Tec head

Not necessarily at all. The problem will be in the main page but probably won't be the feed itself. Something in the code behind is throwing an error, possibly in the cached copy of the news or possibly it's something in my logging tool. I'm really not sure at the moment but I will be releasing a few beta updates to you guys when I'm not at my day job (at which I've already spent far too much time replying on here!)

Don't known if this helps but did download the Xbox live ap( the one about the new Xbox) you had listed on the news feed this morning before the update !!

Just realized that video looks a lot worse on YT and you probably can't read the version info text. Here is phone info:
Lumia 521
OS: 8.0.10211.204
FW: 1030.6409.1316.0016

I've just tweaked the feed a little bit out of curiosity. I'm almost certain that I've not fixed it but if you have the time to uninstall your app (needed to clear out the cache) and then reinstall and test it now I'd appreciate it

I have a Lumia 620 and your Firmware Revision number is greater than mine??? Does suppose that means anything???

Firmware versions differ wildly depending on region, carrier and when it left the factory, so don't worry about that too much

That may have done something. It did take longer before it crashed. I was able to see the top article in the feed completely load before it dropped to the start screen. When I run it again though, it crashes out before showing any of the article text or images in the listing area (just like in the video I sent you).

Well for a second I thought it worked... It viewed articles for a second, before crashing out again... Sorry!

That suggests that when I try to cache the feed or load the cache I'm hitting errors on your guys phones... That is flippin strange because the caching code hasn't changed since, well, version 2! I'm going to release a beta later tonight which will directly send me an e-mail of the error you're getting when it starts up if an error came in. That should help us get to the bottom of this

I haven't done much WP dev myself, but I do have all the MS dev tools available to me if there's some way for me to monitor the phone and catch the error in VS or something I'd be happy to help.

Ugh. Playing Fire Emblem:Radiant Dawn was a bad idea right now. Also, I'm stuck on IE Mobile. Don't expect me to help much. Also, a lot of features are broken on IE Mobile, so good luck to myself.

So, if a couple of articles are written, and something good happens...

Cobalt, unfortunately short of sending the phone to me there's not a lot that can be done there, which is why I wrote my logging tool hopefully we'll get some information out of it later today

MrVahn, if you have a look through this thread you'll see that I'm working as hard as possible to diagnose the issue, until then I'm afraid I can't be of any help for which I am very sorry. Please bear with us while we try and work out exactly what the problem is. In the meantime could you let me know which device you are using, as well as which region you are in? Thank you

wow this thread developed a lot lol

i'm using USA region and English language here (tho i live in Brazil haha USA is better for store purposes)

same thing happened to me the multiple times i uninstalled/installed: it loads the news but if i scroll, the app crashes and then it keeps crashing if i try to open it

i can also send some screenshots of my settings if it helps!
