Yellow tinge around screen

[Windows Central Question]

I have had a rarely used Windows Surface 3 that I got for school. I've used this machine probably once every couple months for short use. I've also had a screen protector on it and case for it's entire lifetime. Somehow every time I've turned it on after not using it for a while this yellow tint has formed and is now terrible looking around all the edges. This coupled with a ridiculous amount of software problems has made the surface unusable for me. I feel like I wasted my money so I likely won't buy a surface again. Apparently this is a common problem that Microsoft seems to not want to help with.

Have you tried having your device checked in a service center?

As to whether or not Microsoft wants to help is an entirely different (and controversial) topic.
