Sometimes i have an error when shutting down the SP3. When i shut down, Display is off, but i could hear a little noice. So i touched the start button and it vibrated. I waited for 5 minutes, but it was still vibrating, The only solution was to hold down the power button about 10 secs. Then it was really shutted down. After loggin in again i could see a Hardware error in the reliability index and an unexpected shutdown.

Just go my SP3 (i7) today and after playing with it for a while, had this same issue. I was afraid it was defective, but a restart corrected the issue. Hopefully it doesn't happen again, or if it's a bug it gets squashed.

It happened to me again last week once. It is very infrequent, but it's a bug that is there. It happens infrequently enough that when it happened this last time I was puzzled for a couple minutes before I remembered, and restarted the computer.

If I tap the power button now, I get the slide to shut down screen.

I have this issue aswell, any ideas guys? dont fancy a re-install - Adam

Has anyone noticed their SP3 will get hot and the fan kick in at full blast when using IE Metro?

I can use any other app fine without the fan coming on but after a few mins in Metro IE the device starts getting quite hot and the fan is belting round.

Desktop IE doesn't have this issue at all.

I use IE Metro exclusively and have never had that happen.....I haven't heard my fan since the first day of massive updates/installs.

It seems to have died down now, although I have seen similar reports of this happening elsewhere.

Last Friday I received my pro 3 i7 and I am very happy with it because it is just an awesome machine and a big step higher then the rt, surface 2, pro and pro 2 I own(ed). I am a happy camper that I could work on Al these machines but for the first time I come across a problem I just can't solve and also Microsoft phone support not (after two hours). They asked me to go to the store to swap the machine so I did that wednesday.

What's the problem? Let me explain.

It syncs but partially. It syncs my contact's, my avatar (picture on my account), it syncs my apps, it sync's my OneDrive and it syncs to my other devices (in internet explorer I can see my pro 3 on other devices when I go to desktop mode and click on a empty tab next to my homepage) So, conclusion syncing does happen but not on my pro 3 correctly.

I don't see my previous searches, I don't see my desktop background, I don't see my screensaver and I don't see my other devices.
This is what I tried:
- Checked my sync setting one OneDrive (all on)
- Refreshed my pro 3 several times
- Reinstall the OS several times
- Switched to a local account and activated my Microsoft account again
- Went to the Microsoft store and swapped my device ( I know its not a hardware failure but trying was my last option)
- Refreshed my surface 2 and Re-Installed my account on my surface 2 and there it works like a charm (everything syncs)
- Logged on with a different account on my pro3 and that syncs
- chatted with OneDrive support and this guy, logged in remotely did a few things I already did, could not figure it out after half an hour and then told me that he called with a few colleagues that this was a know issue (I will put the chat below for those of you who want to read it) and that I should wait for a "fix" in coming updates.

I am almost sure it has something to do with my OneDrive account not being able to sync correctly with the pro 3 for some reason but I can't find anyone on line having the same problems so I am hoping there is a very smart mind in these forums that knows a solution because this is very frustrating.

Please let me know if anybody else has the same issue

I've been having issues closing Hearthstone. Every time I go into the in-game menu and click close, a box shows up to say that Microsoft Windows is not responding. I chose to wait, and the Battle.net desktop app just hung in the background with no buttons working on my SP3 or on screen. I had to soft reset by holding down the power button, but that shouldn't need to be done. It's a desktop program, and it can't handle being closed! Ridiculous

Wellllll - I thought my Surface is on - no display though. The back-upper-right corner was warm but nothing happened with the power of pen switches. I didn't have my power cable with me so I couldn't test that.

After doing a hard reset things seem to be okay and there was nothing suspicious in the event logs. It also happened a couple of days after it 1st came out (I received it on the initial ship date). My guess is that it was a sleep/hibernation issue

Great device, I use it for work etc, however, what I've found most irritating is when on Skype (which can be 2+ hours per day - my family is overseas)..... as soon as the fan kicks in, anyone to whom I'm chatting rips off their headset because of the electronic static noise.... again, ONLY when the fan kicks in. I depend on Skype and other video chats considerably. I can hear the fan, it's not at all loud on my end and no interference of any kind for me....only to those I'm chatting to.

I have had similar WiFi issues with my new Surface Pro 3i7. I call Microsoft Support and they told me there is a known issue with WiFi stability and a fix will be coming in a future Windows Update.

The only issue I know that I have is when I wake my device from sleep and the Bluetooth/Wi-Fi drivers disappear and the only way to get them back is to go into Device Manager and "scan for new hardware" or rebooting the device. It seems to be pretty common, but you'd think it would be fixed by now...

Hopefully I don't have any other issues.

Hey guys, bought my SP3 last month in the USA and have noticed some separation between the top silver bezel and the screen, its not much and it doesn't affect the actual use of my SP3 but it is definatly a defect and i can see it getting worse over time. I've spoken to Microsoft and they have provided me with a return postage label, they said their maintenance team will give the final verdict on what they can do for me. I'll keep everyone updated on how it goes, fingers crossed they will just send me a replacement - Adam

I'm having problems with severe static noise when using my Bose headphones. Headphones work flawlessly with my MacBook Pro Retina, iPhone, iPad and xperia z2 devices.

On the SP3 is seems to cut in and out randomly, very annoying.

Anyone else experience this?

Just got my SP3 and tried to set up my stuff. It logs in just fine, my email works fine in metro, but OneDrive and OneNote refuse to work. OneNote asks for a password but just doesnt do anything if I try to do something to input it. OneDrive acts as if my whole OneDrive was completely empty, can't get it to work through desktop IE either (the metro OneDrive app didnt work either).

Apparently some error in syncing, but after many reboots it doesnt seem to fix itself, any idea how to make it work? Without my account syncing properly this device cant do a whole lot to me

In the settings it also complaints that it cant connect to OneDrive. IE is also giving me some certification warnings when accessing OneDrive, but OneDrive works fine on my PC so it shouldnt be on MS's end at least.

EDIT: Problem solved, the device had wrong date for whatever reason, the date was off by like 1? months, which is why nothing worked, apparently due to some security certificates having a problem with the dates not matching on those services.
