I thought of trying this experiment, I had done it before with my lumia 1020 (got 2 days 10 hours on a single charge)

This is what I've started doing. I'll use my phone as I normally do - checking emails, facebook, instagram, whatsapp, a bit of browsing, music, taking photos, calls, sms

I have a lumia 540, running 14393.221 W10M
I'll be using 3G internet mostly. No wifi unless I get it somehow

So 3rd October it was at 100% at 11pm at night. Left it on with data off
4th October
5:10 am: 99%

5:40am : 94% - did all the internet dependent activities I mentioned above for 30 minutes

6:40 to 7:20 - listening to locally stored music via coloud headphones- down to 93%

7:30 am to 2:00pm : miscellaneous calls, sms, checking facebook, whatsapp - down to 88%

Going to update as I continue using.

you are definitely getting some great backup, i usually loose a good 5-8% of charge when listening to music and compared to each section the backup is far better then my 730.

Lets watch how it ends :)

streaming songs or local copy?
Listening via wired headphones or wireless?

Very interesting experiment Chintan. I'm guessing that you are listening to music with the screen off?

4th October
2:00pm to 4:30pm - down to 81% - checking facebook, whatsapp, a few calls, sms

4:30 - 5:20pm - down to 77% - listening to music the whole time, checking facebook, whatsapp, emails

5:30 - 6:00pm - checking some sites, etc - down to 70%

9:00pm - down to 67% after sending a few whatsapp messages

5th October:

5:10am : battery at 65%
5:10 - 5:40 - down to 59% after checking emails, facebook, instagram using 6tag, whatsapp

6:40 - 7:20 - down to 56% after listening to music

9:00am - At 55%

Wow, you at getting a 2 day backup as of now. This is a similar routine of mine but no where close to such a backup. i believe you will get through this day easily. ;D

It is looking like that - so far the biggest use is UC browser. I need to try out another browser or reinstall this one

If I was checking messages and listening to music, then yes, the screen is on then.

But it's the commute home or to work, not much to do except look outside the window and see what's new
Ohh okay, I see. This is a really interesting test, surprised that you are on day 2.

you dont play much games do you? how about running some games and recording the battery usage. Also is the majority of your time on wifi or cellular data?

So far it's been cellular, 3G to be specific. I don't get wifi easily but it would be better with wifi from past experience

I don't play games at all, in any device. That's not my interest. I have a big interest in photography but the 540 isn't really strong there

Definitively, if I should remove Whatsapp my 650 will last 24 hrs instead 14 to 18 hrs doinf the same other things (sms , edge, mixcloud)

Then, if'd stop using Edge phone will last 2 days

Maurizio, if you browse internet using Edge for 10 minutes, how much battery does it use on your 650? It uses about 5-6% on my 950XL.

5th October

6:00pm - 44% - at this point I had gone looking for wifi, so I just charged it fully.

So 1 day 19 hours - battery dropped from 100 to 44%

I might do this again after a new update

Sounds like the Edge I know. A phone with such a huge battery looses 5% within 10 minutes using Edge. It's clear Edge is not the "UWP" they claim.
