Fix for bricked 920's after reset. Flash Process defined inside!

Update: I used the above Rogers software and it installed perfectly. Also, for anyone who's interested, this was a Rogers ROM installed onto an AT&T phone, and I had no issues whatsoever. Further, it DID add the option to change the max. network speed to 2G/3G/LTE, which in turn did solve the problem I was having. For anyone having a similar issue, I believe this is the ONLY route to fixing it, so I recommend giving it a shot (although don't hold me responsible if anything goes wrong).

I now own an AT&T branded phone, with the Rogers OS and splash screen, working on the Telus network.. Lol. If anyone knows of any unbranded ROMS that may also do this, I'd appreciate it, as it will take a bit of explaining as to why my AT&T phone has a Rogers splash screen if I ever decide to sell it.. Lol.

On Orange UK/EE. I followed the instructions to the letter and at first it wouldn't work( tried 3 times) then I tried just pressing vol down and power, waiting for the vibrate, but NOT pressing vol up, then clicking retry and it worked fine. I am over the moon as I had just sold it on ebay which was the reason for the factory reset, saved my bacon, thank you so much

Does anyone know which code to use - i have an Orange UK contract (just unlocked it from EE) - and will the phone still be unlocked if this works?

If flash my Nokia Lumia 920 locked to AT&T with a ROM RM 821 - GLOBAL white SWAP - will this free it from AT&T and make it carrier unlocked to be used in Canada or is there an unlocked ROM available for Canada?

Which ROM did you use? I think the Build model was a canadian model but the Roger's ROM does not work for me (059Q6W4). Did you use AT&T (059L848) ?

I apologize to anyone that asked me questions specifically, I am glad the rest of the WPCentral community came in to assist further. I simply do not have the time to read everyone's PM's youtube comments and try to assist. I hope that the instructions helped enough of you and this thread doesn't disappear as it seems to be extremely helpful for a lot of you. I have already moved on from my Lumia 920 until MS has resolved a lot of the Skype issue I have (voice messages specifically). I hope to be coming back to it when things improve, for now thanks for all the "likes" and kind comments!

Not sure which version I have to upgrade to....
My Firmware version is 1232.2109.1242.1002 Should I be upgrading to 1232.5951.1249.1002 ?
If I upgrade the firmware will I still receive future OTA updates?

im just wondering if this thread is for me. A little background. Some skydrive picture previews were just grey boxes in the picture hub. WindowsPhone support didn't have any answers that helped.So I decided to reset my 920 which Ive done once before. Soon after it was stuck on the gears. 3 hours later WindowsPhone support told me to press the vol down with the power button. My phone hasn't turned on since.Is this what people here have experienced? I have a mac book air and a Surface.

Edit: Nevermind. apparently I cant install msi on my Surface.I guess its off to AT&T

The Lumia 920 isn't locked just to EE, it also works with T-Mobile and Orange (i think) as they're all the same network

It was bricked when I initially reinstalled the AT&T ROM. However, I decided to go ahead and do the Rogers ROM because not all of the settings are available with the AT&T ROM. In particular, I was unable to set the maximum network speed from LTE to 3G, which was causing intermittent network connection issues. After installing the Rogers ROM and setting this setting to 3G, I had no issues with it at all. I also reset the phone several times to make sure it didn't brick again and everything went smoothly.

Excuse me but i tried it all night long and nothing.
Everything works fine except on this step.

1. Plug the phone into your PC
2. Hold the Volume Down and the Power button, click RETRY on the Product Support Tools Window
3. After you feel a vibration in the phone immediately release the Volume Down and the Power button and hold the Volume up button.

When i do this (step 1 to 3) my phone automatically return to the cog wheel screen, and nokia suite to the retry screen, i continue to hold the
up button but nothing happen:unhappysweat:


4. Continue to hold the volume up button, you will see the software say "Rebooting"
5. After about 15 seconds you will see a top NOKIA logo and the software will start flashing the phone.

i didn't see step 4, nokia care always show me ths screen with retry :unhappysweat:

i don't know if battery level could influence the process ? because my battery level was low, i charge it all nigt and it still shows me the battery on my Lumia 920 (sometimes).

I'm also stuck at the same point, couldn't get to step 4. How did you resolve this?

That's the current version which is installed on phones now, not the Portico update

Took ages to get the apps, settings and start screen the way I want it. Is there a way to preserve all that if I flash portico or is it best to wait for the OTA update?
